hello, first question here (very short), please forgive if it was discussed, how i can loop automatically video file, i`m using pmp (psp media player) it is probably a bit platform specific question, but maybe someone can help with a little advice... thanks, wojciech

How to incorporate a subset of FFMPEG source in other projects?

Hello, FFMPEG developers. Yesterday I released a new project of mine to the public, DVBCUT. You might have read my announcement on the ffmpeg-users list. http://dvbcut.sourceforge.net I got some response from the first downloaders, and some seem to have problems because they have a different version of libavcodec/libavformat installed on their system than I have on mine, and my code seems to be incompatible with some older versions. I remember some time ago was a discussion on this list regarding this issue. Because the interfaces of libavcodec/libavformat keep changing once in a while, and it is difficult to get users of my program install the same version of FFMPEG than I have (I'm still using a CVS snapshot from September), there was the suggestion that developers of other projects can incorporate the source code of ffmpeg in their project, so it comes with the right version. For GPL'ed project (such as DVBCUT), this should be no problem. My question is, how to achieve this technically. I only need a small subset of libavcodec/libavformat, namely the mpeg2video decoder and encoder, the mp2 audio decoder (maybe AC3 in the future), and the mpeg2 and mpeg2ts muxers. Is there a good starting point to find out, what files I need include and to modify? Maybe someone even has written some shell scripts to do the job. If not, that's no problem, I will find out myself. But maybe someone has already put some effort into this and has some good tips (or even scripts) for me. [OT] FFmpeg based development project

Hi All, I'm currently in the middle of a development project and I've run into some major problems with regard to encoding/muxing a live video stream. I'm prepared to pay a resonable amount to anyone who can help me get this project finished as soon as possible as the project is behind schedule. The outline of the project is a recording unit, similar to a PVR. Most of which is working but I've run into a brick wall with the final part. I need a daemon/background process which can take a live MPEG2 stream from a device and convert it into an MPEG4 stream to disk on the fly, and on demand controlled via a unix/tcp socket. VP3 decoding issue

Something wrong with rate control?

Hello everyone, I'd like to know if something's wrong with rate control in the CVS versions I've been downloading from the last weeks. Specially when encoding with H.264. The output generated has a very different bitrate than the one I ask for. I'm compiling CVS sources in Windows with mingw and this is an example of a command-line I'm testing: ./ffmpeg -i video.avi -vcodec h264 -b 512 -acodec mp3 test.avi While encoding FFMPEG reports bitrates of 3000 kbit/s, not 512 kbps. Mp3 bitrate is 64kbps. Right now I'm testing with version 2005-12-01, and the same is happening with MPEG4. libavformat: mov writer appends headers rather than prepends

Hi, Unlike Apple's QuickTime, Nokia's 3GP encoder etc., the MOV encoder in ffmpeg places the headers necessary for seeking and video information at the end of the file rather than at the beginning, that way making the produced files less suitable for streaming. Also, I suspect that this fact causes 3gp files produced with ffmpeg not to play on my Nokia 6230i phone. I'm not sure of the later conclusion, but when comparing files produced by Nokia or QuickTime with ffmpeg's files, ffmpeg's difference seems to be in the header ordering.
