[FWD] [PATCH] immediate decoding of dvd stills
by nicola_sabbi＠fastwebnet.it 24 Jun '11

24 Jun '11

Some time ago someone posted this small patch to permit decoding dvd still images without setting LOW_DELAY; unfortunately it seems the patch was forgotten Is it ok to commit? If not, what's the right way to proceed?

[PATCH] Apple Video Encoder (rpza)
by ffmpeg.php＠gmail.com 24 Jan '11

24 Jan '11

Attached is a patch to add support for Apple Video encoding (rpza). The quality settings are defined at compile time right now since I wasn't really sure how to map ffmpeg's numerous video options to the capabilities of rpza. It supports all rpza encoding opcodes but the 4-color block encoding doesn't try to do multiblock runs yet. -Todd

Duplicate options
by roine＠users.sourceforge.net 08 Aug '08

08 Aug '08

ffmpeg lists some options twice in the help: -threads -strict -dc -qdiff -rc_eq -aspect The subtitle options are also both in the Main section and the Subtitle section: -scodec -slang -newsubtitle It seems the duplication is due to some options being in ffmpeg.c and some in libavcodec/utils.c. I don't really understand the difference (so no patch from me), but my guess is they should be removed from ffmpeg.c. Roine

[PATCH] Vorbis I floor type 0 support
by eclipse7＠gmx.net 16 Mar '08

16 Mar '08

Hi, i extended the ffmpeg vorbis decoder to decode vorbis floor0 files. It is my first try at this kind of stuff. I only had one sample tho testing wasn't too exhaustive. I tested the code on linux x86 and Solaris SPARC so far. As always comments and testers welcome. Have fun, Alex (beastd)

[RFC/Patch] native mms code...
by rdm4＠martellventures.com 02 Aug '07

02 Aug '07

Hi-- Attached is a native mms implementation. I did this from the ground up working off the specification, with the exception of borrowing the packet output debug routine from libmms, which I will probably remove before final submission. (I was using the libmms debug output stuff against my stuff to find my bugs) This is a rough draft only; I'm sort of interested in what people think about this method of implementation. Things I know about: 1) fprintfs must go 2) there may be trailing whitespace, etc. Key questions: 1) is the interface to asf.[ch] satisfactory? 2) Using a URLProtocol instead was an option, but it doesn't support streaming by timestamp. So instead I mirrored rtp stuff. 3) How can I get the local ip and port from a url_XXX tcp connection? It doesn't seem currently available in. Is this correct? 4) MMS has parameters for the tcp connection bitrate; and if there are multiple encodings in the file, it will choose the best ones. I am currently only streaming the first audio and first video stream. How would i get the bandwidth input from the user? I know we don't want to add new AVOptions that aren't globally useful. Also, I could ask for audio only in this manor. Thanks! -Ryan

[PATCH] HD DVD subtitle decoding
by ian.caulfield＠gmail.com 24 Jul '07

24 Jul '07

Hi, The attached patches add support for HD DVD subtitles (both 2-bit and 8-bit) to the dvdsub decoder. The patches depend on my earlier bugfix/tidy patches, which I've reattached as dvdsub1.patch and dvdsub2.patch. dvdsubdec-rename.patch renames one of the internal functions and some local variable in order to avoid confusion between the 2-bit and 8-bit RLE modes. dvdsubdec-hd.patch adds the HD DVD subtitle support dvdsubdec-retab.patch retabulates the code I'm not sure about the yuvtorgb code - I lifted this from dvbsubdec.c, but I reckon it should probably live somewhere else, though I couldn't decide where. corrupt audio when cut
by lists＠rooseveltmedia.com 16 Jul '07

16 Jul '07

Sometimes (say 5% of the time) when I use ffmepg -ss X -t Y to cut a smaller file out of a bigger file (in this case MPEG-4 avi with mp3), the audio will go corrupt. It's not the file because I can substitute different X and Y values in and it'll work fine (although still a 5-10% chance of corruption). Furthemore, if X and Y stay the same, the behavior is always the same, either corrupt or not corrupt. The orginial file is created with ffmpeg -v 0 -i /dev/video0 -async 1 -y -vcodec mpeg4 -acodec mp3 -t 3580 -b 1750k -ab 192 -ar 44100 -s 480x384 -vtag DX50 'file.avi' The cut process is: ffmpeg -ss 60.0 -t 180.0 -y -vcodec copy -acodec copy -i file.avi cutfile.avi [cyrus at wkyt crontabs]$ /roosevelt/ffmpeg/ffmpeg -version FFmpeg version SVN-r6849, Copyright (c) 2000-2006 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --enable-mp3lame libavutil version: 49.0.2 libavcodec version: 51.23.0 libavformat version: 50.6.0 built on Oct 31 2006 12:55:14, gcc: 4.1.1 20060525 (Red Hat 4.1.1-1) ffmpeg SVN-r6849 libavutil 3211266 libavcodec 3348224 libavformat 3278336 FC5 and 6, x86_64 Thanks in advance for any help. ID3v2
by andreas＠olebyn.nu 22 May '07

22 May '07

Hi I've written a tentative patch that adds ID3v2.[234] reading and ID3v2.4 writing to the mp3 (de)muxer. I've tested it together with xmms and itunes. I'd say the primary reasons for using ID3v2 is: * It's located at the beginning of the file (obviously a benefit when streaming) * It supports strings > 30 chars Comments welcome. While at it, I renamed some stuff to better reflect what ID3-version it is used for. Perhaps I should submit that as a separate patch?

matroska to vob frame skipping issue.
by chris＠garveycocker.com 04 Apr '07

04 Apr '07

Hi, I have been struggling with trying to encode matroska files (AC3 and h264 streams) to vobs. The encoding takes place but the resultant file plays very jerky. It is like only every other frame is been encoded. This happens for me on about 90% of such files. I have uploaded an example of this issue - lots of panning which illustrates the problem very well: ftp://upload.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/incoming/matroska-to-vob-skipping Here is my command line: ffmpeg -i planet.earth.mkv -target dvd planet.earth.mpg FFmpeg version SVN-r7159, Copyright (c) 2000-2006 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --enable-a52 --enable-gpl --enable-memalign-hack --disable-debug libavutil version: 49.1.0 libavcodec version: 51.25.0 libavformat version: 51.6.0 built on Nov 23 2006 10:04:43, gcc: 3.4.4 (mingw special) [matroska @ 00709434]Ignoring seekhead entry for ID=0x1549a966 [matroska @ 00709434]Ignoring seekhead entry for ID=0x1654ae6b [matroska @ 00709434]Ignoring seekhead entry for ID=0x114d9b74 [matroska @ 00709434]Unknown entry 0x73a4 in info header [matroska @ 00709434]Unknown track header entry 0x55aa - ignoring [matroska @ 00709434]Unknown track header entry 0x23314f - ignoring [matroska @ 00709434]Unknown track header entry 0x55ee - ignoring [matroska @ 00709434]Unknown track header entry 0xaa - ignoring [matroska @ 00709434]Unknown track header entry 0x55aa - ignoring [matroska @ 00709434]Unknown track header entry 0x23314f - ignoring [matroska @ 00709434]Unknown track header entry 0x55ee - ignoring [matroska @ 00709434]Unknown track header entry 0xaa - ignoring Input #0, matroska, from 'planet.earth.mkv': Duration: 00:01:02.3, bitrate: N/A Stream #0.0: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, 5:1 Stream #0.1: Video: h264, yuv420p, 1280x720, 25.00 fps(r) Assuming PAL for target.
