Hi all. I wrote a little library, designed to control hardware h264 codec, based on MG1264. Also I integrate it with ffmpeg as libcrusher264, it's in very beta state, but usable. It was tested in mpeg2->h264 transcoding, and patched ffmpeg can encode video in real-time (or faster) up to 640x480. Here is library and patch: http://tipok.org.ua/node/13

Close Thread Handle in avcodec_thread_free

Hi guy's I am willing to post a patch for avcodec_thread_free. When using multi threaded video decoding and upon closure in avcodec_thread_free thread handle are not being closed But I have no idea to how to create a diff file or patch file on windows OS. [PATCH] libspeex Speex encoding

Hi, This patch combines parts of my previous libspeex encoding patch with parts of the one sent by Art Clarke. The rate control is not as intuitive to use as I would like, but it works. libspeex has the option to have the library choose a CBR bitrate based on a quality setting. Providing that option doesn't really fit well into our current system since there is no way to tell if the user is specifying CBR quality or VBR quality. So instead it just uses bitrate for CBR and quality for VBR like our other audio encoders. The default bitrate of 64kbps is higher than the maximum Speex bitrate, so at least it will be good quality by default. Thanks, Justin

dvdsub encoder: respect palette when it makes sense

Hi. The current version of the dvdsub encoder uses the alpha channel of the palette to weight the most important colors, and then completely ignores the palette. In particular, the alpha values it puts in the stream are hardcoded arbitrary values. The attached patch fix that to a certain extent: when there is exactly one rectangle and the palette has exactly 4 colors, the colors are kept in their original order and the alpha channel of the palette is copied to the stream. With this patch, it becomes possible to use the dvdsub encoder to produce a VOBSUB pair of file that mplayer can understand. Regards, -- Nicolas George

Hi, Overall 17% faster decode on my Penryn, including the first function to use SSE4 instructions in ffmpeg! (which shave an entire 2 clocks off of vc1_h_loop_filter8 for me) One thing I don't understand is why the PSIGNW_SRA_MMX macro is necessary for correct results. I know that psignw isn't equivalent to ((a ^ b) - b), but the only difference I'm aware of is when b is 0, psignw sets a to 0 as well. [PATCH] Suppress some error messages while there are previous images yet

Hi, when showing the samples contained in subdirectory rnissl, a bunch of error messages appears which seem to be legal as those still images are no IDR frames / fields. [PATCH] Altivec split-radix FFT

1.6x faster than altivec radix-2 as measured by fft-test on a G4. 2.0x as measured by gprof. I failed to get oprofile or POWERPC_PERF to measure anything. This is my first time writing ppc asm, so any optimization hints are appreciated. I used raw asm rather than intrinsics because gcc adds a ginormous overhead to each function call. Is there anything I need to do to make it work on ppc64, if it doesn't already? --Loren Merritt
