UDP source are MPEGTS stream with MPEG2 encoding (TV channels). I'm transcoding and recording in H264 using 30 minutes chunks. After the #24 segment is recorded (so after 12 hours of recording) the audio duration info is wrong in the file (look like a signed vs unsigned variable problem). Here is what I'm doing : ffmpeg -i udp://xx.xx.xx.xx:5000 -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -s 640x360 -vcodec libx264 -g 60 -vb 500000 -strict experimental -vf yadif -acodec aac -ab 96000 -ac 2 -y -f segment -segment_format mp4 -segment_time 1800 /mnt/%03dt.mp4 I tried to change the audio codec to libvo_aacenc with the same result. So it seems to be related to the segmenter. There is discontinusous phenomenon people can perceive. However MCE created WTV files continue to play fine, only ffmpeg created WTV file don't play. When KB2670838 update is UnInstalled, MCE and WMP are able to play ffmpeg created WTV files. #2078: FFMPEG created WTV files cannot be fast forwarded or fast rewound in Windows Media Center -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Reporter: ramitbhalla | Type: defect Status: new | Priority: normal Component: | Version: undetermined | unspecified Keywords: | Blocked By: Blocking: | Reproduced by developer: 0 Analyzed by developer: 0 | -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Summary of the bug: Any WTV file created by FFMPEG, they can be seeked directly in MCE but when one tries toe fast forward or rewind (using the FF and RW buttons on the remote or the console) it does not go beyond at best 1 FF or 1 RW. i.e. WTV files recorded by MCE one can press the FF button upto 4 times to get 4x fast forward. Files created by FFMPEG sometimes get 1x FF and never go beyond 1x FF, it just returns to normal play. (See https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/QuickTime/QTFF/QTFFC…) These atoms are necessary for detecting the correct dimensions for some videos, since they take precedence in Quicktime over the normal TKHD (track header) width/height and over the track PASP (pixel aspect ratio).
