I tried both left the labels 5.0, 5.1, 4.0, even 1.0 as well as differnt integer numbers in between 0 and 186. The bug is in "libavformat/utils.c", function "av_url_split". When given a URL that conforms to RFC2398, the 1998 URL standard, FFmpeg incorrectly parses the URL and fails to download the file. This is because FFmpeg's parser looks for the earliest slash after the domain name, by assuming that there must be a slash after the domain name, before the query string, which is not true. Which means that it affects direct media links, M3U8/HLS playlists (where the user has no control over the URLs and no way to fix it themselves), etc. This is problematic because the ".com?" format is entirely up to the streaming media provider, and cannot be affected by the user. Any streaming playlist that uses a field such as "EXT-X-KEY" with such a URL (as in my example URL) will fail completely in FFmpeg and there's nothing the user can do about it. So it is imperative that FFmpeg understands RFC2396 and allows the slash to be optional. I looked at the parsing code and it seems quite simple to fix. It currently looks for the first "/" slash and "?" question mark. The fix would probably be to say "If a question mark was found, and it is earlier than the first slash, or no slash was found at all" then set the pointers so that it treats the "?" as the start of the query and the character ''immediately before that'' as the end of the domain name. PS: I have set the same priority as the earlier URL parsing error ticket I referred to above. In case I do not specify the 'map' ffmpeg parameter, ffmpeg is selecting streams from different 'Programs', i.e. Stream #0:7 and Stream #0:2, and we have the video-audio out of sync. In case I specifies the 'map' ffmpeg parameter selecting streams belonging to the same 'Program', i.e. Stream #0:4 and Stream #0:5, we do NOT have anymore the video-audio out of sync. The problem with this solution is that, in case the variants/streams of the input live streaming changes, I have always to change my map parameters. The fix I'm asking to be evaluated, to avoid the video-audio out of sync, is the following: In case the 'map' parameter is not specified, ffmpeg should select streams belonging to the same 'Program'. One is "ES Phase Shift" enabled, which requires a discrete Center Surround channel during encoding. The other is "ES Pre-Mixed" enabled, which doesn't require a discrete Center Surround channel during encoding. FFmpeg is not able to decode those samples to 6.1 channel. #8770: SACD DST (dff extension) sometimes produces errors -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Reporter: MelkorLord | Type: defect Status: new | Priority: normal Component: ffmpeg | Version: git- Keywords: sacd dst | master dff | Blocked By: Blocking: | Reproduced by developer: 0 Analyzed by developer: 0 | -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- I have a bunch of DSD files from my SACD collection ripped a long time ago with `sacd-ripper` https://github.com/sacd-ripper/sacd-ripper using the command line `sacd_extract -i sacd.iso -m -p` which produces `Philips DSDIFF` according to the usage help. `sacd_extract -i sacd.iso -m -s` produces `Sony DSF` files from the very same SACD ISO and it's faster but resulting files are way bigger. When I try to turn them into RF64 WAV files, some DFF (dst) files produce errors but DSF files, identified `Stream #0:0: Audio: dsd_lsbf_planar, 352800 Hz, 5.1, fltp, 16934 kb/s` by FFMPEG are absolutely clean and error free. To (try to) validate that all files are clean, I used `odio-sacd` https://tari.in/www/software/odio-sacd/ which is a DST/DFF converter and it produces WAV files (non RF64) out of DFF files free of any error. The command line is `odio-sacd -i "music_file.dff" -r 176400` On the lower volume parts of the tracks, the FFMPEG WAV files have cracks and pops around the timelines where the decoding errors occurred. And the WAV files are always a tiny bit shorter in size and thus in time by 10's of milliseconds on those 5.1 files. So I wonder if something is wrong with FFMPEG's DST decoder or if `odio- sacd` silently ignores them and mutes them, I have no way of knowing for sure. From all the SACD ISOs I have, there's a pattern : For any given ISO, I either get errors on a lot of DFF or none of them. I have a lot of DFF files which decode cleanly with FFMPEG. But, if at least one DFF file in a given ISO produces decoding errors, I can be sure some of the next tracks will also produce errors. I couldn't find a pattern among SACD sources though (different artists, producers, etc) FFMPEG's test command line is: `./ffmpeg-git-20200617 -report -i "music_file.dff" -codec:a pcm_s24le -ar 176400 -rf64 always -f null -` The report is attached.
