Dear All, I want to visualise motion vector of an mpeg sequence, there is motion vector visualization in the ffmpeg program but I dont know how actually to view it. Could anyone show me how to visualization motion vectors with mpeg (1,2,4) sequences. Much appreciated Hung

Error converting jpg do mpg

I have not been able to get any image input except gif to work. I have run from debian/stable, debian/testing, and CVS. For some reason, the only image listed under --formats is gif. I dunno if there are some flags which would allow me to use JPEG or PNG... P.S. I'd be happy to RTFM... Any suggestions for M's to R? Beginner question

Hi, I just tried to use ffmpeg for the first time and ran into a problem which I didn't find a solution in the docs for. I have a video4linux tv card (works with motv and alike tools). When I just call (example from the docs) ffmpeg somefile ffmpeg opens the file for writing, and then issues an error message that it doesn't find the video device. ffmpeg -ad /dev/dsp -ar 44100 -ab 64 -acodec mp3 somefile records the TV sound correctly, but no image. ffmpeg -vd /dev/video0 -ad /dev/dsp -acodec mp3 -ar 22050 -ab 64 -r 25 -b 2048 -an -s 352x288 -t 10 video.mpg records the TV video correctly, but without sound. What do I have to do to record both video and audio ? regards Hadmut

Could not find video grab device

I have been complied ffmpeg CVS(20050715). I run xawtv to activate the right *video* source and channel. xawtv show TV very well. ffmpeg command line something like this. [root at e-viola ffmpeg-20050715]# ffmpeg -vd '/dev/video0' out.mpg ffmpeg version CVS, build 4758, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard configuration: --enable-mp3lame built on Oct 8 2005 06:14:52, gcc: 3.4.1 (Haansoft 3.4.1-7) File 'out.mpg' already exists. Overwrite ? [y/N] y Could not find video grab device [root at e-viola ffmpeg-20050715]# /dev/*video*0 and /dev/dsp works very well. I have access permissions to /dev/*video*0 and /dev/dsp what's the matter?
