I have compress my video into 3gp with audio codec AMR NB in 8000 Hz of frequency Can i reduce the frequency? may be in 4 kHz or this is in default 8000 Hz in AMR_NB and 16000 in AMR_WB? AMR_bitrates rates[]={ {0,4999,MR475}, //4 {5000,5899,MR515},//5 {5900,6699,MR59},//6 {6700,7000,MR67},//7 {7001,7949,MR74},//8 {7950,9999,MR795},//9 {10000,11999,MR102},//10 {12000,64000,MR122},//12 };

ffserver with Asf and WMP10?
by nicolasremond＠xidtech.com 27 Dec '05

27 Dec '05

Hello, I want to have a video stream server to which I connect with VLC and WMP9/10 ... My platform is a Mandriva 2006, gcc 4.0.1 I tried first with the version "out of the box", the mandriva ffmpeg package and the just the classical "doc/ffserver.conf" but this, wasn't very successful. Then, I tried with the CVS version, see the ffserver.conf at the end. This works with VLC but it doesn't with WMP ... it's always buffering and if i put a smaller bitrate, i get a black video ... Any help will be welcome! Thank you Nicolas //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// //// ffserver.conf Port 8080 BindAddress 0.0.0.0 MaxClients 1000 MaxBandwidth 1000 CustomLog - NoDaemon <Feed feed.ffm> File /tmp/feed.ffm FileMaxSize 100M ACL allow 127.0.0.1 </Feed> <Stream live.asf> Feed feed.ffm Format asf VideoCodec wmv1 VideoFrameRate 15 VideoSize 352x288 VideoBitRate 384 VideoGopSize 30 NoAudio StartSendOnKey ACL allow 192.168.1.0 192.168.1.255 ACL allow 127.0.0.1 </Stream> <Stream stat.html> Format status </Stream> <Redirect index.html> URL http://192.168.1.24:8080/live.asf </Redirect>

Converting .mov (MPEG4) to WMV
by meerkapot＠yahoo.com 26 Dec '05

26 Dec '05

Hi, Can ffmpeg produce converted result with the same bitrate like the source ? I tried to convert with this command : ffmpeg -i movie.mov -acodec mp3 movie.wmv But the resulting video was not good, really bad. >From them ffmpeg output, I saw the source bitrate is 2014 kbps or something. Then, I tried again : ffmpeg -i movie.mov -b 2014 -acodec mp3 movie.wmv Now, the result is much better. But my question, is there any automatic way to do this ? So that ffmpeg will produce more or less the same quality with the input video. I tried also to use -hq , but it does not help. Thanks. __________________________________________ Yahoo! DSL ? Keeping timestamps

Is it possible to re-encode an MPEG-1 in ffmpeg while maintaining the timestamps? I will of course RTFS but opinions & suggestions welcome. -- Michel Bardiaux R&D Director T +32 [0] 2 790 29 41 F +32 [0] 2 790 29 02 E mailto:mbardiaux at mediaxim.be Mediaxim NV/SA Vorstlaan 191 Boulevard du Souverain Brussel 1160 Bruxelles http://www.mediaxim.com/

lossless realtime video capturing codec, take 2
by tom＠dbservice.com 26 Dec '05

please also reply directly to me as I'm not subscribed to this list. Michel, you forgot to apply a lossless codec, such as huffyuv or ffv1, with ffv1 I can get 20000MByte/hour which makes ~5.5MByte/sec (or ~1:18 compression on raw RGB frames), but that's still too much. I think I'll have to rescale the frames.. :( My harddrive should be able to handle this, but not the network. My cache size is 1MByte. tom

lossless realtime video capturing codec
by tom＠dbservice.com 22 Dec '05

22 Dec '05

I'm looking for a codec and container format for lossless realtime video capturing. The requirements are: o Code should be OpenSource (or usable under linux in my own application) o lossless or near-lossless (YV12 format is fine) o min resulution: 1280x1024 o variable framerate, (but with a maximum: 20 or 25fps) o under these conditions (1280x1024 at 25) it should produce a bitstream smaller then 3.5MByte/s (to copy the data over a 100MBit network to a server) o realtime on a 64bit AMD Athlon X2 4400+ (2.2GHz), one core can be dedicated for the encoding. FFV1 is quite good, but its too slow, even with VLC it does only 16fps on my CPU. I'd prefer a lossless coded, but a near-lossless would do it, too. I don't know about HuffYUV, but I've heard that it produces slightly bigger files. For the container format, I don't know whether AVI can handle variable framerate, MP4 can, but is it supported in ffpemg? Can someone please point me to a codec and container format that would fit my requirements? thanks tom

Streaming over GPRS
by imamwib＠students.stttelkom.ac.id 22 Dec '05

22 Dec '05

Hi all.. I have problem with ffmpeg. In my laboratory, we've research in streaming. We are building the streaming server use ffmpeg and ffserver. Our plan is to transmit this streaming to mobilephone over GPRS which have link rate approximately 20 kbps or under it. Is this possible? May be we use MPEG4 codec for video and AMR codec for audio. My questions is : 1) Is this possible to transmit video streaming in GPRS network which have limited link rate? 2) If this is possible, how to implementing this in our streaming server? 3) Which the codec should I use? or Must I build the new codec? Thanks 4 your help..
