Hi all, 1st of all, im Linux noob. Im running Fedora Core 3. I try to put my camera onthe web by using ffserver and ffmpeg. I can see the aoutput using xawtv, so my camera was OK. As root, i run ffserver....and ffserver started. But when i run.... ... Negative size returned by avcodec_decode_audio

I'm decoding a fairly standard mpeg-2 stream with avcodec CVS from a couple of weeks ago. This call sometimes returns a negative value for decode_size. e.g. len would be 1688 and decode_size would be -128. The comment for avcodec_decode_audio seems to imply that a negative value here is wrong (i.e. it should be the size of the data or 0, not sure why it's a signed value...) len = avcodec_decode_audio(codec_context, buf, &decode_size, packet->data, packet->size); Can anyone shed any light on this? Converting an image sequence to a dv file

i have a lot of tiff image sequences that i need to convert to a dv file, so far the only thing i have gotten to work is the command "convert" but that exports it as a 25fps mpg and i need an NTSC dv (mpg would be ok, but i prefer dv) i have looked around on how to do this and supposedly ffmpeg can, but i can't figure out how any help is welcome and thanks in advance

Hi, I'm enconding some raw yuv video with ffmpeg but my final video has a horizontal sync issue (it slides to the right) and really strange colors (it's almost completely black&white with a few strips of bright colors in the top area). does ffmpeg rpm contain all libraries and extras needed?

hi all just wanted to know if anyone had installed rpm's of ffmpeg from http://dag.wieers.com/packages/ffmpeg/ i have installed ffmpeg from src on my local devserver but would prefer to install from rpm on the live server this is how i installed ffmpeg on the devserver, and i would need the same for the live one ./configure --enable-faad --enable-gpl --enable-faac --enable-faadbin --enable-mp3lame --enable-shared --enable-amr_nb installed faad, faac, mp3lame, and amr_nb float before ffmpeg, all is good on the local box, would the above also be installed with an rpm from the site above thanks dave

ffmpeg - Error while opening codec ?

Hello, I have downloaded and compiled ffmpeg 0.4.9-pre1 with --enable-mp3lame support. I have also setup a capture card in Linux using the bt848 driver. Now I now the card works because I can use it under xawtv and palantir for broadcasting. I want to use ffmpeg for broadcasting live video / audio. I am trying the examples from the documentation but it is failing no matter what I do. I start the server by: ./ffserver -f doc/ffserver.conf & - which starts with out any problems. I have the same problem, but the first thing you can do is lower the frame rate to 10 or 8. and try -bt 1. this makes bitrates lower for me but I still try to find some way to limit it. I need to create 3gp file with bitrate of 60 kbps. But despite of fact that I pass "-b 30" option to ffmpeg, file with higher bitrate is created (it can be seen from ffmpeg output). So maybe someone can give me a hint, how can I create 3gp file with bitrate which I need? Hi, I'm currently working on the first stage of a solution to do automated media encoding for mobile phones. I think ffmpeg a good solution to use. The only thing is ffmpeg doesn't really support maxbitrate or CBR for h263 like helix or xenon2pro does. For some mobile services it is required to limit the peak rates. Is it possible to really create fixed bitrate 3gp's or will it be possible in the future? Tim de Jong
