Hello: I'm having a problem similar to Wes's problem with no audio. I'm trying to convert a ".mov" file to a ".flv" file. I've tried compiling ffmpeg using: ./configure --enable-gpl I used the Unix command: ffmpeg -i pict005.mov pict005.flv This command produced the following output: ffmpeg version 0.4.9-pre1, build 4718, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard built on Apr 20 2005 11:25:36, gcc: 3.3.3 20040412 (Red Hat Linux 3.3.3-7) Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp, from 'pict005.mov': Duration: 00:01:01.8, bitrate: 269 kb/s Stream #0.0: Video: mjpeg, 320x240, 24.00 fps Stream #0.1: Audio: pcm_u8, 7812 Hz, mono, 62 kb/s File 'pict005.flv' already exists. Overwrite ? [y/N] y Output #0, flv, to 'pict005.flv': Stream #0.0: Video: flv, 320x240, 24.00 fps, q=2-31, 200 kb/s Stream mapping: Stream #0.0 -> #0.0 Press [q] to stop encoding frame= 114 q=16.7 Lsize= 236kB time=4.8 bitrate= 407.2kbits/s video:234kB audio:0kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead 0.765563% I've also tried: ffmpeg -acodec pcm_u8 -i pict005.mov pict005.flv but still no audio. Any suggestions? Griff

apiexample.c

Dear ff-users, i am trying to change apiexample.c ( and its function video_encode_example) in order to encode a yuv file , creating an h263 coded file. I think i have some problems with the AVFrame objetc, called picture, beacuse i do not know how to fill its fields with the raw video data that r in my file. So i've got some problems during execution of the program with MPV_encode_ function called from the avcodec library Any suggestion? The FLV format supports raw audio, but ffmpeg dosent. I can say with absolute certainty that no audio format other than mp3 works with flvs generated with ffmpeg. -Wes -----Original Message----- From: ffmpeg-user-bounces at mplayerhq.hu [mailto:ffmpeg-user-bounces at mplayerhq.hu] On Behalf Of Mike Melanson Sent: Wednesday, April 20, 2005 2:48 PM To: FFMpeg user questions and RTFMs Subject: Re: [Ffmpeg-user] FLV & Audio griff at quik.com wrote: > Hello: > > I'm having a problem similar to Wes's problem with no audio. > > I'm trying to convert a ".mov" file to a ".flv" file. > I've tried compiling ffmpeg using: > ./configure --enable-gpl > > I used the Unix command: > ffmpeg -i pict005.mov pict005.flv How about the --enable-lame option? Further, MP3 is fickle about frequencies. I doubt 7812 Hz will cut it. Be ready to resample. Not sure if FLV supports raw PCM. -- -Mike Melanson _______________________________________________ ffmpeg-user mailing list ffmpeg-user at mplayerhq.hu http://mplayerhq.hu/mailman/listinfo/ffmpeg-user

Well, I took out the --enable-shared in the configure command and rebuilt the package and it worked. I was compiling with the --enable-shared option to satisfy ffmpeg-php (which links against libavformat and libavcodec). It seems ffmpeg-php still works even though I've recompiled without the --enable-shared option so I guess everything is just peachy. -Wes -----Original Message----- From: ffmpeg-user-bounces at mplayerhq.hu [mailto:ffmpeg-user-bounces at mplayerhq.hu] On Behalf Of Michael Niedermayer Sent: Wednesday, April 20, 2005 12:35 PM To: FFMpeg user questions and RTFMs Subject: Re: [Ffmpeg-user] FLV & Audio Hi On Wednesday 20 April 2005 15:35, Wes Widner wrote: > I've tried all three suggestions. I've tried all three suggestions. trouble compiling

Hi - I'm hoping this list can help :> I'm running a SuSE 9.2 implementation on an AMD X86_64 platform. Ultimately I want to use transcode, but of course need to get ffmpeg installed. {{I haven't been able to successfully rpm ffmpeg (I successfully compiled Lame but of course RPM is not aware of it, and I don't know how, or if, to "inform" rpm of a compiled app. If memory serves, ffmpeg rpm requires Lame.}} Anyway, I'm trying to compile ffmpeg. Tried to compile 4.9-pre1 using the readme instructions but it kept failing with a message "recompile with -fPIC". I have no idea what to make of that. I tried 4.8 and used the ./configure (no other switches) and it succceded. But I when I added switches for audio codecs it failed again with the "recompile with -fPIC error". Can you help with a suggestion or two? Is this an x64 error? I assume I'm right to need the -enable-"codec", etc. Thx Reid ______________________________________________________________________ This e-mail has been scanned by MCI Managed Email Content Service, using Skeptic? technology powered by MessageLabs. EOB market absent

Hi, When I use ffmpeg to convert video grabbed with dvgrab I get some messages like this: AC EOB marker is absent pos=64 (pos=64 is most common: skimming through I think they are all in the range 64 to 111.) Is this a dvgrab problem, an ffmpeg problem, or just a warning I can ignore? Darren [1]: dvgrab commandline was: dvgrab --autosplit --format dv2 --timestamp --buffers 200 t02_
