Shown below is the ffmpeg version I'm running. I have an AMD x86_64. Should I use the --tune option, and would the syntax be --tune=x86_64, or some other syntax. What might that be, please? 2) When I have run ./configure with --enable-shared the Make bombs. Should I be adding some other options or switches (meaning..is it something I'm doing wrong?) and can you tell me what it is I need to do or is ffmpeg just not ready for --enable-shared with x86_64? Error: Could not find video grab device - need help

Hi all, 1st of all, im Linux noob. Im running Fedora Core 3. I try to put my camera onthe web by using ffserver and ffmpeg. I can see the aoutput using xawtv, so my camera was OK. As root, i run ffserver....and ffserver started. But when i run.... ... ffserver/ffmpeg trouble?

Hi, I'm trying to use ffmpeg with ffserver and the 'latest' CSV (24.6.05 was the date I built and tested it) doesn't seem to work. There are (or seem to be) no problems grabbing the video using just ffmpeg and saving it into a file - using the same options (codecs, bitrates, ...) as I used in 'ffserver.conf'. That's the command line (I limited the time to 30s): ffmpeg -vd /dev/video0 -t 30s -f asf -vcodec msmpeg4v2 -b 768 -s 4cif -r 15 -acodec mp3 -ab 128 -ac 1 out.asf If I transfer the file to a Windows machine, the WMP and BSPLAYER have no problem playing it. But if I try to serve this file via 'ffserver' or 'ffmpeg' to feed a live stream, I get a lot of errors or warnings: >From ffmpeg (when it starts): [msmpeg4v2 @ 0x404036f0]removing common factors from framerate [msmpeg4v2 @ 0x404036f0]rc buffer underflow [msmpeg4v2 @ 0x404036f0]rc buffer underflow [msmpeg4v2 @ 0x404036f0]rc buffer underflow And from ffserver (when the client connects): error, non monotone timestamps 1119949284664561 >= 1119949284612317 error, non monotone timestamps 1119949284925767 >= 1119949284873523 error, non monotone timestamps 1119949286571453 >= 1119949286545331 WMP connects and starts buffering. But right as it should start playing, it stops and goes into 'waiting' state (that's what it says on the status bar). Ffserver uses the same options for format, codecs and bitrates as were used in 'ffmpeg' example. If I try to play a stream from the file (created by previos ffmpeg example), it starts playing but it re-buffers every couple of seconds - even though the network should be fast enough (tested on LAN) and the encoding machine is not too busy (about 40% CPU usage). Did any of you have better luck using the ffserver with ffmpeg (with recent versions, that is)? Thanks, D. PS: Right now I'm using an earlier version which kind of works - the WMP plays (both the file and live) but it re-bufferes every couple of seconds...

a/v sync, canon camera 4800X problem

I am working on a project with 55 DV tapes, roughly half of which originated (I believe) with a Canon camera with the 48009 constant audio bit rate problem. (variously reported as 48005 to 48009 on the internet) What that means is if you view the DV file straight the A/V sync is fine. But if you split out the A/V streams, compress, and join them back together you end up with a slowly increasing A/V sync problem that starts to be noticable after 15 or 20 minutes. I'm having an incredibly difficult time trying to compress these broken files because most tools assume the audio is to spec and is 48000. And they won't let you override the spec 48000 with 48008. I've managed to split out the audio stream using ffmpeg to a wav file, then use ecasound -ei to alter the length of the file, but ecasound's -ei parameter doesn't hold enough precision for the very small (but absolutely critical) adjustment I need ( -ei 100.018141% ). I don't know how to resample between 4800x and 48000 because the audio file split out from the DV file claims it is 48000 already. I would GREATLY appreciate help. This is beating me to a pulp! Trying to get started dumping a movie.

Hi all, I'm trying what I thought would be a pretty simple process. Dump the Frame Buffer into a MPEG movie. Seems like img_convert is perfect, I just need to convert RGB24 into whatever the PIX_FMT the AVCodecContext wanted. Seemed simple. There was even a little example output_example to show me how do things. Problem is, I've copied the output_example code into my app, and I get segfaults because I end trying to dereference a NULL pointer. So I figured I forgot to do something, and I would trace output_example very carefully to see where I went wrong. Errr.... wrong duration for 3gp files

While I was testing to convert 3gp files I saw that the duration and bitrate is wrongly displayed. A file of 00:00:09.0 would get 00:01:40.0 as duration. I used the latest cvs build 4756 for this. But I rembered that with older version the duration was correctly displayed so I recompiled a snapshot of 20050420 and that version correctly displayed the 3gp file as 00:00:09.0. The 3gp was created using build 4756. Is this a bug? or something I did wrong? There seems to be a problem with output_example in the current cvs or am I doing something wrong? output_example usage: ./output_example output_file API example program to output a media file with libavformat. The output format is automatically guessed according to the file extension. [Ffmpeg-user-old] Audio is not detected in dvr-ms files

hi I tried playing dvr-ms files in mplayer and ffplay. But FFmpeg is not able to detect the audio stream in the dvr-ms stream. When we try to play it we only see the video stream and there is no audio stream. Can anyone help There is an audio stream but ffmpeg is unable to detect.
