Hello, First attempt for VFW capture support in Windows. For testing purposes only! Enable it with: ./configure --enable-memalign-hack --enable-vfw-cap It prints lots of (somewhat useless) debug messages. Image is upside down =). I just have to find the right PIX_FMT and width/height... I'm way too tired to look at that now. Note: Run this FFmpeg from Windows' command prompts (cmd or command)! *Not MSys!*. This patch includes the patch I sent to ffmpeg-devel for interactive support for Windows. You must kill it with 'q' or Ctrl+C, or else the capture device won't be released, and you'll have to reboot Windows to get it back. MSys doesn't capture 'q' nor Ctrl+C, so it's doomed to make you loose control of the device. Ramiro Polla

Sirs, I have been playing around with SVN-r7260 using a command like; ffmpeg -i %02d.jpg -f mpeg2video out.avi This does exactly what I expected ... in that it takes the few jpg images and creates a short movie at 1 image per frame. However ... I don't just have a few jpg images ... but a collection of around 50,000 that I wish to assemble into a 3-ish hour movie sequence. So a few questions; 1. Is FFMPEG really an appropriate tool for creating such a movie sequence or am I barking up the wrong tree? 2. Is there a command line mechanism for providing, for example, the name of a text file containing the names of all of these images? And if not ... then would anyone else in the user community likely benefit from me adding such functionality? 3. If not 2, then I am stuck using '-i %05d.jpg' and having to relocate all of my images into one *big* directory for processing. Are there any internal limits on '-i' that I should consider before following this route? Many thanks to anyone who has insight into this area of ffmpeg and is who is willing to respond to me. Alan.

Using 24-bit integer audio codec

Hi gurus Is't possible to use 24-bit integer audio codec by ffmpeg ? I need to transcode MPEG2 video to DV format and because we are using it in FinalCut, audio need to be this 24-bit integer. Possible wrong Audio Bitrate in video with wmav2-audiocodec

Benchmarks needed for pthread vs. w32threads on Windows

Hello, The people at x264 claim pthreads are faster than w32threads in x264: http://www.via.ecp.fr/via/ml/x264-devel/2006-12/msg00052.html I released two builds of the same version of FFmpeg at http://arrozcru.no-ip.org/ffmpeg_builds/ One with pthreads for FFmpeg and x264, and the other with w32threads for FFmpeg and whatever's native threading in win32 for x264. I ask for people to please benchmark both, to finally see and have recorded somewhere which one is better, faster, and more stable. For benchmarking on FFmpeg, use the "-benchmark" argument, and preferable output to "/dev/null" (yes, msys correctly understands /dev/null). Ramiro Polla

I am getting: ERROR: LAME not found I have built and installed Lame already. It is present in /usr/local/lib But somehow the ./configure script is not recognizing it. I would otherwise have used the default Port version of ffmpeg, but I am under the impression that it is much outdated. Thank you, Shark
