[ffmpeg-users] hook option for audio
by pranavadesai＠gmail.com 24 Dec '06

24 Dec '06

Hello All, I have played around a bit with the hook option, but I am not sure if this works for audio as well. I.e. if I want to pass the video thru my own hook, which can delete ads in a video. Initially I am thinking of taking 2 timestamps or frame numbers as arguments and discard the frames between 2 frames (timestamps) in my hook, in that case, how can I take care of the audio between those 2 timestamps. I know that mythtv and some other software can detect ads for me, but I just want to learn something, so I thought I will do this as a project. I would appreciate any help. -- Thanks Pranav ------------------------------ http://pd.dnsalias.org

Picking pics out of a video
by dennismail＠gmx.net 23 Dec '06

23 Dec '06

Hi there again! I just solved most of my problems with ffmpeg - it's just an very amazing tool and I want to thank all developers for their really good work! The last thing is that I want to grap a pic out of a video. I searched through the mailinglist and found the following: $ ffmpeg -i foo.mpg -ss 50 -f image2 -vframes 1 bar.jpg This works, though I have to know at which position the pic is which I want to export. So I want to ask which other solutions there are and how easy/difficult they are rated by you (an example would be to use cinelerra, but this is, although with gui, a rather difficult solution to the problem). I am happy to report a bug, if that's what this is. In your opinion, is this behavior a bug or working as designed? If there's something wrong with the input FLV, it wouldn't be a bug in ffmpeg. Also, user error on my part wouldn't constitute a bug. If there's any way you can take a look at the pastebin link and can comment on what I'm trying to do, that would be greatly appreciated. I guess what I'm trying to ascertain is if there is some obvious error in my ffmpeg build, my input file, or my usage of ffmpeg. Thanks! RC

Hi, I have just made a fresh cygwin download and a fresh svn checkout of ffmpeg (20/12/06). (It is more than 7 months since I last did this.) I then do the following command "./configure && make I get a compile error. The shell output for the failure, the versions and the output of a cat /cpu/info are all attached. Thanks for your advices DEF __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

Problem with video containing multiple stream
by peikfeng＠gmail.com 22 Dec '06

22 Dec '06

Hi, I am trying to convert a video file that has multiple stream. Here is the command I used for conversion: You may also look at the info of the original video C:\ffmpeg-7329>ffmpeg.exe -i "macbreak-tue, 12 dec 2006 00-00-00 gmt.mov" -vcodec xvid -acodec mp3 -y macbreak.avi FFmpeg version SVN-r7329, Copyright (c) 2000-2006 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --enable-memalign-hack --extra-ldflags=-L/static/lib --extra-c flags=-I/static/include --enable-gpl --enable-mp3lame --enable-xvid --enable-lib ogg --enable-vorbis --enable-faad --enable-faac --enable-amr_nb --enable-amr_wb --enable-dts --enable-libgsm --enable-x264 libavutil version: 49.1.0 libavcodec version: 51.27.0 libavformat version: 51.6.0 built on Dec 18 2006 11:31:23, gcc: 3.4.5 (mingw special) [mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2 @ 008F7514]negative ctts, ignoring Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from 'macbreak-tue, 12 dec 2006 00-00-00 gmt. mov': Duration: 00:08:47.2, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 682 kb/s Stream #0.0(eng): Video: h264, yuv420p, 800x450, 23.98 fps(r) Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: aac, 44100 Hz, stereo Stream #0.2(eng): Data: 0x0000 Stream #0.3(eng): Video: qtrle, rgba32, 32x2, 0.00 fps(r) Output #0, avi, to 'macbreak.avi': Stream #0.0: Video: xvid, yuv420p, 32x2, q=2-31, 200 kb/s, 0.00 fps(c) Stream #0.1: Audio: mp3, 44100 Hz, stereo, 64 kb/s Stream mapping: Stream #0.0 -> #0.0 Stream #0.1 -> #0.1 The result of the conversion is a block of grey line. What should I set in order to make ffmpeg to take Stream #0.0 as input? as I think ffmpeg is currently taking stream #0.3. I have tried -map option but also fail. The movie is taken from Macbreak Podcast: http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mov?http://media.libsyn.com/media/macbr… Any help appreciated. Thank you. -- Regards, Peik Feng
