Shown below is the ffmpeg version I'm running. I have two questions about different issues: 1) performance tuning and 2) using --enable-shared. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- reid at linux:~/FFMpeg-20050519/FFMpeg-20050519> ffmpeg -version ffmpeg version 0.4.9-pre1, build 4755, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard configuration: --prefix=/usr --enable-mp3lame --enable-gpl built on May 18 2005 22:26:04, gcc: 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809) ffmpeg 0.4.9-pre1 libavcodec 4755 libavformat 4624 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) Regarding performance tuning, I wonder if I well get better performance from ffmpeg if I ./configure it with the cpu info I'm using? I have an AMD x86_64. Should I use the --tune option, and would the syntax be --tune=x86_64, or some other syntax. What might that be, please? 2) When I have run ./configure with --enable-shared the Make bombs. Should I be adding some other options or switches (meaning..is it something I'm doing wrong?) and can you tell me what it is I need to do or is ffmpeg just not ready for --enable-shared with x86_64? mp4a support?

Hi everyone, I am trying to use ffmpeg to convert a 3gp file to flv (flash video). I get an error with the audio file because it looks like my compile of ffmpeg cannot recognize mp4a. Is there any way to get ffmpeg to recognize this format? I tried to do a recompile of the latest cvs of ffmpeg but still no luck. problem encoding 3g2 (9 audio channels?)

3gp vs 3g2 to flv

All: I am able to convert 3gp files to flv format just fine. However I get a error when I try to convert a 3g2 to flv. audio from webcam issue

Hi, does anybody know how to acquire sound from a webcam mic? the video works fine, I've compiled ffmpeg with lame support, no error messages during export, but the video is mute. I've got a few audio devices: /dev/audio /dev/audio1 /dev/dsp /dev/dsp1 any clue? thanks..

Choppy vcd and no sound (no audio)

I am trying to convert my camera AVI video's to VCD's so I can record them for longer term use. If there is no compression aretefacts in your Divx, you can make from 4 hours to more in one DVD. If I give to ffmepg an input from my dvd-recorder (Television), I can place 3H by DVD (and no more), due scories and "grain" of the input It always depends of the number of information of your input. bye Herv?

Operational order of zoom clip and pad

Hi, ffmepg provides the capability to zoom, clip and pad the video. Is there any defined sequence of the above 3 operation? or it depends on the order of command line? thanks
