MOV Files create grey area?

Recommendations for Thumbnail Movies

Hi guys, I wonder if anyone has sample code or suggestions for a clean way to make a smaller version of an FLV file that can be used as a thumbnail. What I set out to do was just use the -s to give new height and width dimensions to the output, but it runs into an error saying "Frame size must be a multiple of 2" The command I run is this: ffmpeg.exe -i source.flv -an -s 75x56 thumb.flv The output I get is this: Output: FFmpeg version SVN-rUNKNOWN, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard configuration: --enable-memalign-hack libavutil version: 49.0.0 libavcodec version: 51.11.0 libavformat version: 50.5.0 built on Aug 27 2006 05:23:37, gcc: 3.2.3 (mingw special 20030504-1) Input #0, avi, from 'source.flv' : Duration: 00:00:13.1, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 2642 kb/s Stream #0.0: Video: mjpeg, yuvj422p, 320x240, 15.00 fps(r) Stream #0.1: Audio: pcm_u8, 11024 Hz, mono, 88 kb/s Frame size must be a multiple of 2 With some files and sizes the reduction happened, but the file size isn't all that much smaller anyway. Unsupported codec error

Hi there I've installed ffmpeg and when checkng the version I get this: [root at cp ffmpeg_temp]# ffmpeg -version ffmpeg version 0.4.9-pre1, build 4718, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard built on Sep 23 2006 10:38:11, gcc: 3.4.3 20050227 (Red Hat 3.4.3-22.1) ffmpeg 0.4.9-pre1 libavcodec 4718 libavformat 4616 But when I try and convert a wmv file to flv I get the output below. The flw is created but its 0 bytes. Please can someone help me as this is now driving me insane trying to get ffmpeg to work. problems with v4l2

Hi, all I want to stream the video captured from v4l2, but I met a seg fault in memcpy of v4l2.c. I found that in memcpy(frame, s->buf_start[buf.index], buf.bytesused); the buf.bytesused=884736 ,and the s->frame_size=691200, this is why seg fault happend. The size parameter I put is -s 720x480 ,and -pix_fmt is uyvu422, so the frame_size=691200 is right ,but I have no idea why buf.bytesused is 884736? and I changed the memcpy to memcpy(frame, s->buf_start[buf.index],s->frame_size); the seg fault has gone. But at this time I can just grab the first 3 frame, and no other more frame can be grabed.

rtsp streaming on real player

Hello everybody, This question is pretty basic, but still... is blocking. Does the rtsp streaming of ffserver to real player work? >From the documentation it seems so, but in practice? I launch the ffserver with these lines in the config file: <Stream test1-rtsp.mpg> Format rtp File "/usr/local/httpd/htdocs/test1.mpg" </Stream> (I tried also many others...) But there is no way to make real player succeed on Rtsp://<linuxbox>:5454/test1-rtsp.mpg Actually I couldn't make any media player work with rtsp (wm,rm,qt,vlan,mplayer). Why? Is the streaming of files buggy? Would rtsp streaming work with live capturing through ffmpeg? (I didn't try that, I don't have any capt dev working on my linux pc) Thanks Giovanni

Uninstalling ffmpegx?

For some reason after I've downloaded the binaries, install and think it's successful (it doesn't tell me anything until I after I've tried to convert a file), the progress bar quickly completes, says success or failed. Either way no file is produced. What's wrong? Maybe I need to unistall then reinstall. How do I uninstall ffmpegx then reinstall?
