VFW Capture support

Hello, First attempt for VFW capture support in Windows. For testing purposes only! Enable it with: ./configure --enable-memalign-hack --enable-vfw-cap It prints lots of (somewhat useless) debug messages. Image is upside down =). I just have to find the right PIX_FMT and width/height... I'm way too tired to look at that now. Note: Run this FFmpeg from Windows' command prompts (cmd or command)! *Not MSys!*. This patch includes the patch I sent to ffmpeg-devel for interactive support for Windows. You must kill it with 'q' or Ctrl+C, or else the capture device won't be released, and you'll have to reboot Windows to get it back. MSys doesn't capture 'q' nor Ctrl+C, so it's doomed to make you loose control of the device. Ramiro Polla

Hi, I use mpeg4ip for streaming to mobile phones. It use ffmpeg for encoding mpeg4 to encode a stream which is size 176x144 at 90 kbps. This works fine as long as I use a ffmpeg package from sometime early fall 2004 but somewhere between then and late spring 2005 there was a change in ffmpeg so if I build against a later ffmpeg package I get a video stream which is extreamly blocky with huge pixels. I suspect that some parameter has been added which needs to be initialized, I tried to figure it out by looking at diffs of ffmpeg.c and avcodec.h but haven't found the right one to set. Uninstalling and reinstalling ffmpeg

Hello. I have installed ffmpeg using the svn command found on the documentation of ffmpeg. I have two questions. 1. How do I uninstall the ffmpeg and 2. Should I do the svn to install the newer version or is their something better I can be doing. Thanks Josh

Sirs, I have been playing around with SVN-r7260 using a command like; ffmpeg -i %02d.jpg -f mpeg2video out.avi This does exactly what I expected ... in that it takes the few jpg images and creates a short movie at 1 image per frame. However ... I don't just have a few jpg images ... but a collection of around 50,000 that I wish to assemble into a 3-ish hour movie sequence. So a few questions; 1. Is FFMPEG really an appropriate tool for creating such a movie sequence or am I barking up the wrong tree? 2. Is there a command line mechanism for providing, for example, the name of a text file containing the names of all of these images? And if not ... then would anyone else in the user community likely benefit from me adding such functionality? 3. If not 2, then I am stuck using '-i %05d.jpg' and having to relocate all of my images into one *big* directory for processing. Are there any internal limits on '-i' that I should consider before following this route? Many thanks to anyone who has insight into this area of ffmpeg and is who is willing to respond to me. Alan.

Hi, I begin to make my first program, but encountered a first linking problem. How to grab exactly each frame from one movie file, such as one avi file? And I means to get all images' sequence number corresponding to their frame ordinal number, that is, the Nth image corresponding to the Nth frame in movie file. I have tried the following command line: Z:\>ffmpeg -i "d:\Temp\Task20061127_video003.avi" .\grab\%08d.jpg but it didn't meet my exact want. The above avi movie file lose one frame(the 5807th frame) which may be lost during encoding. But the 00005807.jpg file is found when I extract frame. I think the extracted 00005807.jpg should be 00005808.jpg actually and there should not exist 00005807.jpg. -- dawnsong

I am trying to build FFMPEG as extracted from the SVN repository on 01/30 10AM Pacific, and failing miserably :-( My platform is Slackware 11.0. This has GCC 3.4.6 and GLIBC 2.3.6.
