Hi. Is it possible to re-index WMV's via libavcode/format? After creating wmv's file, I'm sometimes getting them with broken seeking (unable to seek in windows media player), and after inspection I noticed the index is missing or corrupted. Hi there, I have using the tutorial example from: http://www.inb.uni-luebeck.de/~boehme/libavcodec_update.html I only slightly modified it so that is compiles: http://gdcm.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/gdcm/Sandbox/ffmpeg/avcodec_sample.c in order to read this file: http://www.creatis.insa-lyon.fr/~jpr/PUBLIC/gdcm/gdcmSampleData/DICOM_MPEG_… Unfortunately the avcodec_sample does not dump the expected 5 frames. I haven't been able to figure out the reason why so far. It seems to be working for a lot of files but not on this particular one. thanks for comments, -- Mathieu

setting aspect without reenconding

Hi, Is it possible to set the aspect 16:9 without of a mpeg reeconding? The mpegs I have (from a camcorder) are in 16:9, but many players (mplayer, kaboodle, google video) assume that they are 4:3 videos. I assume that the aspect is not clearly indicated in the mpeg headers. I tried ffmpeg -vcodec copy -acodec copy -aspect 16:9 -i f.mpg f-16_9b.mpg but it didn't work: google video (and mplayer) still considers the video to be in 4:3 format. My main interest is to upload videos to google video. If I reencode the quality is lower or the file is bigger (often both). Thanks a lot! Marko

Boundaries for .dv file splitting

Hi all, I've found on this list (http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/ffmpeg-user/2007-April/008347.html) that to split a large .dv file into smaller chunks by means of: /dd if=large_dv_file.dv of=small_file.dv bs=[120000|144000] //skip=[starting frame #] count=[# of frames]/ the following boundaries should be respected: bs=120000 (NTSC) bs=144000 (PAL) That is correct if the .dv file is video-only. I'm not so sure that it's also correct in case an audio track is present in the .dv file. What do you think? Francesco Sigona

mplayer (FFmpeg's libavcodec) displays just a crop of an mp4-file

Hi, when I play mp4-files from my digital camera (Olympus), I just see the upper left part of the movie. (MPlayer 1.0rc2-4.1.2) When I view the movie on the camera, I see the entire movie. Quicktime plays the same file correctly. Any idea??? I can provide more information and a sample file. Best regards, Daniel

Oddities with png and image2

No sound when converting to flv

Hi all, I need to convert avi to flv and I tried to use the following command: ffmpeg -i input.avi output.flv but there is no sound in flv file. Why?
