conversion of flash movie -segmentation fault
by harijay＠gmail.com 23 Aug '07

Hi I am trying to convert a flash movie output by the screencasting tool wink using ffmpeg. I am a newbie to transcoding. But I did manage to compile ffmpeg from the subversion build atleast a month ago (ffmpeg-checkout-2007-07-11]). Although I can get ffmpeg to make thumnails , transcode from mov (h264) to flv , avi to flv ffmpeg somehow crashes when I try this command on a flash file output from wink , ffmpeg crashes. Could anyone tell me what I should try? Output and command line etc are pasted below Thanks hari ffmpeg -vcodec mjpeg -i /home/harijay/63b53a53570eb720a5808f074778b3fd.swf -vcodec flv -s 960x480 out2.flv FFmpeg version SVN-rUNKNOWN, Copyright (c) 2000-2007 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --prefix=/home/bioscree --cross-compile --enable-shared --enable-libmp3lame --extra-cflags=-I/home/bioscree/include --extra-ldflags=-L/home/bioscree/lib --enable-libfaac --enable-libfaad --enable-libogg --enable-libvorbis --enable-gpl libavutil version: 49.4.0 libavcodec version: 51.40.4 libavformat version: 51.12.1 built on Jul 1 2007 21:48:18, gcc: 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-3) Compiler did not align stack variables. Forked shockwave flash files and ffmpeg

Is there a way to have ffmpeg take a certain path through a shockwave flash file that's "forked" in a manner similar to the old game dragon's lair? -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG. Version: 7.5.484 / Virus Database: 269.12.2/967 - Release Date: 8/22/2007

Problems while encoding multiple bit-rate WMV files
by datrio＠gmail.com 23 Aug '07

23 Aug '07

Hey all, I'm working on a UNIX tool to convert a WMV file into a multiple bit-rate WMV file. Sadly, -newvideo doesn't work as I'd like it to work, as all the streams encoded into the WMV are played at once. Here's the stream data from ffmpeg: Stream #0.0: Audio: wmav2, 48000 Hz, stereo, 128 kb/s Stream #0.1: Audio: wmav2, 48000 Hz, stereo, 64 kb/s Stream #0.2: Audio: wmav2, 44100 Hz, stereo, 48 kb/s Stream #0.3: Audio: wmav2, 32000 Hz, stereo, 40 kb/s Stream #0.4: Video: wmv3, yuv420p, 720x400, 991 kb/s, 25.00 fps(r) Stream #0.5: Video: wmv3, yuv420p, 720x400, 691 kb/s, 25.00 fps(r) Stream #0.6: Video: wmv3, yuv420p, 720x400, 491 kb/s, 25.00 fps(r) Stream #0.7: Video: wmv3, yuv420p, 720x400, 291 kb/s, 25.00 fps(r) Gspot gives me the following metadata: DeviceConformanceTemplate:L2 DeviceConformanceTemplate:L2 DeviceConformanceTemplate:L2 Aud:DeviceConformanceTemplate:L2 Vid:DeviceConformanceTemplate:MP at ML Vid:DeviceConformanceTemplate:MP at ML Vid:DeviceConformanceTemplate:MP at ML Vid:DeviceConformanceTemplate:MP at ML Aud:Windows Media Audio 9.2 Aud: 40 kbps, 32 kHz, stereo (A/V) 2-pass CBR Vid:Windows Media Video 9 Furthermore, ffmpeg gives me the following "error": [wmv3 @ 0x853dde8]Extra data: 8 bits left, value: 0 Any help on this topic would be appreciated. Is there anything apart from -newvideo and -newaudio that I should try to achieve an MBR file? -- Regards, Dariusz Siedlecki

ffmpeg libamrnb not found
by ploenlweb＠yahoo.es 23 Aug '07

23 Aug '07

Hello everybody, I was tried to compile ffmpeg with amr support but when i run ffmpeg this is the output: ./ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libamrnb.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I know that exists a lot of information above this problem in this list, but nothing was my solution, perhaps becouse i try to compile with particular options, this's the switch: ./configure --prefix=./ --libdir=./ --shlibdir=./ --incdir=./ --mandir=./ --enable-static --enable-pp --enable-swscaler --enable-dc1394 --enable-liba52 --enable-libamr-nb --enable-libamr-wb --enable-libfaac --enable-libfaad --enable-libgsm --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libnut --enable-libogg --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis --enable-libx264 --enable-libxvid --disable-ffserver --disable-ffplay --enable-gpl --enable-pthreads --disable-debug; i want to compile all in one executable file becouse of that i'm use static and if i need some library i'm add this request only by put the file in the same folder as the program. But this is the theory, becouse the folder of the executable has right now the file libamrnb.so.2.0.0 library and two links libamrnb.so.2 and libamrnb.so but not work, this library was create when i compiled ffmpeg. Of course, it's exists too in /usr/local/lib, i'm use amrnb 6.1.0.4 and amrwb 7.0.0.1. What can i do? any idea? Thank U in advance. PD: i'm fight for four day before posting here. ____________________________________________________________________________________ S? un Mejor Amante del Cine ?Quieres saber c?mo? ?Deja que otras personas te ayuden! http://advision.webevents.yahoo.com/reto/entretenimiento.html

AC3 channel mapping problem
by jonmartin77＠concavity.org 22 Aug '07

22 Aug '07

I have tried re-encoding some 448kbps 5:1 AC3 audio down to 384kbps 5:1, but the end result is audio with channel mapping messed up. For example, the dialogue is only present on the right channel and music on the left. The original audio played correctly. ffmpeg flv conversion
by gfrankliu＠gmail.com 22 Aug '07

22 Aug '07

Hi there, When I tried to convert a mp4 file into flv, I noticed the part of last second is missing. Take this mp4 file http://www.timepassindia.com/test.mp4, which is 9seconds, after converted to flv, ffmpeg -i test.mp4 -y -acodec mp3 -ar 22050 -f flv test.flv The test.flv only has about 8.11 seconds. Tried various versions of ffmpeg, same result. Any thoughts? Thanks! Frank

support of SMPTE370M
by kausikd＠cal.interrasystems.com 22 Aug '07

22 Aug '07

Hi, Most probably ffmpeg doesn't support SMPTE370M standard (DV at 100 Mb/s 1080/60i, 1080/50i, 720/60p, 720/50p). Is there any plan to support the standard? Also can you suggest any tool which currently support this and generate yuv dump? Thanks Kausik
