I'm making a windows vista computer we have here in the office into a streaming server. I configured IIS but it's stil not complete and then I installed ffmpeg.exe in windows and it works wherein it converts from a media movie to a .flv Now I need to stream live video using ffmpeg and what I know is I will need ffserver. Is there an ffserver.exe i may download for free somewhere? Or can ffmpeg.exe do the streaming? There are tutorials on how to install and build ffmpeg via the cmd terminal but whatever they taught were futile so I wasn't able to buiold ffmpeg from scratch and I believe I need ffserver to be compiled too. I was able to find the ffmpeg.exe download instead. How do I configure all this? How do I set up this computer int the office into a media streaming server? I'm stuck. Please help. I can't afford flash media server. Please help. I'm lost.

Hi, I am trying to compile ffmpeg so I can move the binary file around from computer to computer without it complaining about missing libraries. I think I may have found an option that could help. So I was wondering what the --disable-shared option does?

hi, i see that in newer ffmpeg builds there is no "+trell" flag anymore. only "-trellis" with an int-value. any hint which values are possible and what they do exactly?

Dynamic width?

Hey guys, First timer here, and a true ffmpeg newbie. We're trying to convert lots of HD-material to a mp4, played in a Flash-player. One our first problems we encountered, was the mix of aspect ratios... And since I haven't found a way to resize a video with ffmpeg without defining both a height AND a width, I was wondering if there is a way to set a dynamic height, and maintain original aspect ratio? Let say I want the video to have a maximum width of 1280px, without altering the original aspect ratio? And my second question is, if there's a way to automatically crop a video, based on a set interval of seconds - for example based on the frames between the 40th and 50th second (i.e. not having to define the frames, since that depends on framerate). A/V out of sync when using ffmpeg but not mplayer

Hello, I'm currently trying to encode a h264 file using x264. So basically I'm piping the output of ffmpeg or mplayer to x264 which do the encode. The work of ffmpeg here is to resize and decode the stream. But I've met a problem I can't explain. When using ffmpeg and after muxing all the streams into an mkv file (using MKVtoolnix) my audio is completely out of sync, I need to add a delay like +3000ms . And when using Mplayer I don't get this problem. Hi guys , I'm using the FFmpeg svn version 10240. But this version of ffmpeg/ffserver doens't work for flv streaming , always there is the rc underflow error. So I'm asking if you know a version that work good for flv streaming with ffserver , and a ffserver.conf that works good.
