I would like to know if any of you have tried this. I am going to have a live video stream that will basically be an FLV file. I would like to push images to the stream and them be added to the next frame that will be streamed. Delay between 'jpg' files

Not sure if this is the proper forum for this sort of request.? If not please redirect me. I am trying to generate a 'wmv' from multiple 'jpg' files with a delay of 3 seconds between each 'jpg'.? Creating the file without the delay works perfectly. >ffmpeg -f image2 -i "C:\Program Files\ffmpeg\image%d.jpg" video.wmv However adding the delay is the problem. Best Hardware for encoding high volume of videos with FFMpeg??

Problem: Encode large amounts of video fast and with good quality. About 300 videos monthly. Input: mostly DV Video (From tapes) 720i, 1080i format 29.97fps PCM Audio 48kHz 16bit stereo Output: Video: H264 640x336 or 640x480 resolution 25fps 700k, 1500k and 2500k bitrates Audio: LC-AAC 96kbps, 16bits, 48kHz, stereo Current solution: All mighty FFMpeg 2-pass encoding using libfaac and libx264. My question: What would be a good hardware platform for a encoding server?? or in better words what processor/architecture does FFMpeg/x264/faac takes more advantage of? No matter if I have a super computer the encoding efficiency won't go up if FFmpeg does not take advantage of that computer features. For example I read the there are some planned improvements for x264 for the new Nehalem processors (http://x264dev.multimedia.cx/?p=51) Thinking in long term deployment what would be the best processor??, does ffmpeg takes advantage of 64bit architectures?? is there speed improvement in the number of cores? as far as I know x264 is threaded to some level so more cores maybe good but is this unlimited?? can FFmpeg make use of a 8 or 16 core CPU? or is quad a maximum? what about RAM, does it affect? I must make clear that I am looking for improvements based on single ffmpeg processes. Having a monster for machine would allow me to run several ffmpeg instances making the encoding process faster but not necessarily efficient. What I am asking is the architecture that FFmpeg can squish the last drop of power from by taking advantage of all the features it has to offer (mmx, sse, sse3...). I can test different parameters for encoding, that does not cost money but buying hardware to test is a little outside of my capabilities. Audio out of sync with AAC, async no help.

Hi folks, I've been running some tests with various media and I noticed audio sync problems when compressing large H.264 (like 1080p Apple movie trailers) down to lower bitrate H.264. Using async helped on smaller versions of files but not on the 1080p source. I've tried many different values for async. From 1 to matching the sample rate, as in the sample below. No effect. I've tried a few different builds (trying to setup so I can build myself going forward) but I'm currently using 15986 and 16043. ffmpeg.exe -i c:\\source\\star_trek_1080p.mov -pass 1 -acodec libfaac -ab 128k -async 44100 -vcodec libx264 -threads 2 -y c:\\output\\star_trek3.mp4 Appreciate any leads ... Converting AVCHD into MPEG-2/H.264 I frames only, impact of copyts, async and vsync options

Dear friends, I am trying to resolve the problems of at least 5 different Kdenlive users, who would like to convert their AVCHD file into H.264 I frames only or MPEG-2 I frames only, fixing the timestamps at the same time. Examples of camcorders not being supported by FFmpeg: http://www.kdenlive.org/video-editor/canon-hf11 http://www.kdenlive.org/video-editor/canon-hg10 http://www.kdenlive.org/video-editor/canon-hf100 http://www.kdenlive.org/video-editor/sony-hdr-cd-6 I had good results with this command: ffmpeg -i johanneswilm.mts \ -f mp4 \ -acodec copy \ -pix_fmt yuv420p -vcodec mpeg2video -qscale 1 -qmin 1 \ -trellis 1 -intra \ -copyts \ out.mp4 http://www.johanneswilm.org/download/johanneswilm.mts Is there a way to fix timestamps during conversion? Shall I use async or vsync or is it impossible? Is there a way to convert AVCHD to AVCHD I frames only + lossless and at the same time FIX timestamps. Thank you very much for your help. Lossless DIRAC and H264

Hello, I would like to addd dirac nearly lossless encoding to Kdenlive rendering profile. Are you aware if ogg and sound mutex work on dirac? What would be a typical command line? Also, as for h264, would you recommend using qscale or bitrate to set quality. Does qscale=1 produce nearly lossless quality? Kind regards, Jean-Michel
