How to demux/decode audio & video in separate output files?

I have MPEG2 file (Program Stream with 2 streams: MPEG2 Video and MP2 Audio) I currently perform video decoding with the following command line: ffmpeg -i input.mpg -vcodec rawvideo input_video_dec.yuv But, I don't find how to add on the same command line the audio demux/decoding to extract also a wav file from mp2 audio stream... 24000/1001 NTSC dvd muxing flag?

Is there a way to pass a flag to the muxer to get 24000/1001 encoded NTSC dvd content to display correctly? The output from ffmpeg's ntsc-dvd target is jerky. Remuxing it using the avidemux commandline causes it to be displayed smoothly. Avidemux uses mplex.

Dear Sir. I am trying to install ffmpeg on my Server. I take the last SVN version and I uncompressed it in /usr/local/libs/codecs (see screen below). [cid:image001.jpg at 01C92255.B4F0BC10] After executing "configure" the program is giving me an error (see above). Please, find attached the "config.err" file. multi V4l devices input.

Hello, im new to ffmpeg and av-lib. I need an advice. I'm trying to develop a small security program. I have few v4l devices and now i have to display 4 video streams and record them... At this moment i have only one displayed video stream by ffmpeg and SDL. So.. the question..: How i can display 4 or more video streams?

can't build with x264

Hi there, I am having trouble building ffmpeg like so: ./configure --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libtheora --enable-liba52 --enable-libx264 --enable-libgsm --enable-postproc --enable-libxvid --enable-libfaac --enable-pthreads --enable-libvorbis --enable-libfaad --enable-gpl --enable-x11grab Configure runs okay, but on make I get this: libavcodec/libx264.c: In function ?X264_init?: libavcodec/libx264.c:165: error: ?x264_param_t? has no member named ?i_bframe_adaptive? make: *** [libavcodec/libx264.o] Error 1 I have libx264-dev installed, so I'm not sure what's causing this... Help? -- Joe

ac3 channel order weirdness

Using ffmpeg to re-encode an ac3 file results in shifted audio channels. Occurs with an svn checkout from today as well. For example, I have a test ac3 5.1 file that just states "Left... Center... Right... Left Rear... Right Rear... (tones for LFE)" in that order. When playing the original via ffmpeg, the audio comes out of the correct speakers. If I rencode the file as an ac3 with ffmpeg (ffmpeg -i input.ac3 -acodec ac3 -ab 384000 -ac 6 output.ac3), the resulting file will have the channels rotated out of sequence ("Left" will come from the center speaker, "Center" will come from the right speaker, "Right" will come from the rear-left speaker, etc). With each serial reencoding, the channels are shifted by 1. Speaker orders when playing test file ------------------------------------- Original: L C R RL RR LFE After 1st reencode: C R RL RR LFE L After 2nd reencode: R RL RR LFE L C Is there a workaround or a way to specify desired channel order in the ffmpeg command line so that the input and output have the same channel mapping? Thanks.

SVN compilating problem

Greetings, I'm sorry to bother you, but I downloaded the lastest SVN from your site, and tried to run ./configure , but an error occurred: "gcc is unable to create an executable file. If gcc is a cross-compiler, use the --enable-cross-compile option. Only do this if you know what cross compiling means. C compiler test failed. If you think configure made a mistake, make sure you are using the latest version from SVN. If the latest version fails, report the problem to the ffmpeg-user at mplayerhq.hu mailing list or IRC #ffmpeg on irc.freenode.net. Include the log file "config.err" produced by configure as this will help solving the problem. " I'm using Ubuntu server, but already tried to reinstall my gcc a few times, tried even different versions, tho, it always reported the same error. I'm adding congif.err file, which will be helpful I hope. If the problem is at my side, I apologize, but I would like to ask you for advice, or a hint how to make it work. Already read the forums, but didn't find this kind of problem so far. Sincerely Pavel

Problems converting to MP4

Hello, Because I'm new to FFMPEG I seem to be having a bit of trouble with it. When I convert an AVI to MP4, I'm getting a double length video. When the original video stream runs out, the other half (of the double video) is simply the audio track again. Here's the command I've been using to convert the video: ffmpeg -i file.avi -f mp4 -vcodec mpeg4 -vb 400k -acodec libfaac -ab 96k -qmin 4 -qmax 5 -threads 2 -r 24 output.mp4 Please let me know if there are more options to add to an MP4 conversion (to speed things up) or why I'm getting double length output. PS: I also had another question, if there is a way for FFMPEG to show the total frame count prior to conversion so I can estimate an ETA. Thank you, -Kevin

Hi, im new to ffmpeg. atm im trying to play around a bit with the ffmpeg-api like trying to read ID3-tags from a mp3-file: int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { av_register_all(); AVFormatContext *fc; fc = av_alloc_format_context(); handle(av_open_input_file(&fc, "21days.mp3", NULL, 0, NULL),"open"); handle(av_find_stream_info(fc), "find stream"); cout << "streams: " << fc->nb_streams << endl; double duration = ((double)fc->duration) / AV_TIME_BASE; int minutes = duration / 60; double seconds = duration - minutes * 60 ; cout << "duration: " << minutes << ":" << seconds << endl; cout << "album: " << fc->album << endl; .... } reading duration works fine. but all ID3 tags like album, year etc. contain no data allthough the mp3 is tagged. i guess there are further steps neccessary, but searching for code-snippets i didnt find anything usefull. i did a fresh checkout yesterday evening and configured with: ./configure --enable-pthreads --prefix=/home/norbert/Desktop/ff --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libvorbis --enable-libamr-nb --enable-nonfree --enable-libfaac --enable-libfaad --enable-gpl hope you guys can give me some hints about this. cheers, Norbert
