Is there any way to add support for the YVU9 codec? I have an old video I am trying to convert, but have had no luck converting anything except the audio. I found a patch from an old version but was unable to get it to work. Thank you!

incremental thumbnails
by williamottley＠gmail.com 27 Dec '09

27 Dec '09

Hello all, I'm trying to figure out the best way to do incremental thumbnails. I need to have incrementals at 30 second intravals. I'm trying to use this command: ffmpeg -an -y -i file1.flv -r 0.05 -t 300 -f image2 thumb_%04d.jpg and i'm confused as to what the -r and -t are used for I guess. i also thought of using a bash script, that would take in the video length (ffmpeg -i filename) and do a loop until the end of the video: ffmpeg -itsoffset -4 -i test.avi -vcodec mjpeg -vframes 1 -an -f rawvideo -s 320x240 test.jpg but i don't think this is the best way to go. does anyone have a solution? thanks! -- Everything that has, did and will happen in your life, exists now, within you (William Ottley) Every universe is covered by seven layers ? earth, water, fire, air, sky, the total energy and false ego ? each ten times greater than the previous one. All available 'target type' options?
by 601699＠gmx.de 26 Dec '09

> > Merry Christmas! > > > > ffmpeg is offering several target types, but only some examples are > > shown in the documentation. Can somebody give me all target types > > available in ffmpeg???? > > Do you mean options for the -target option? They are mostly listed in > ffmpeg -h. Otherwise, you can see how the option is parsed here: > http://git.ffmpeg.org/?p=ffmpeg;a=blob;f=ffmpeg.c;hb=HEAD#l3608 > Simply put, you choose between vcd, svcd, dvd and dv and set a "tv > standard" option too > > If you don't mean the -target options, then what? Based on the German translation of the ffmpeg manual, I expected more options. But I could not find any other options after reading the source code. Issue is closed! Thanks! Tyros

[Ffmpeg-user] FFMPEG VDPAU but no DxVA?
by soljin＠gmail.com 26 Dec '09

26 Dec '09

I see FFMPEG is developing VDPAU support but still no DxVA support. It's just strange to see FFMPEG adding support for not only a platform specific but also hardware specific API. With DxVA it's at least hardware independent (to a degree). Also DxVA is an established API that has been used for quite a while now. Am I missing something or is this just strange? Developer preference? Grave Injustice? I would love to see FFMPEG support DxVA as it could eventually lead to hardware acceleration in tasty things like XBMC Windows. I think cross platform support for hardware accelerated h.264 is the right direction for FFMPEG. I am currently running a build of XBMC VDPAU and would love to offer the same performance to my friends running windows. Many people just aren't comfortable with Linux. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/FFMPEG-VDPAU-but-no-DxVA--tp22613357p22613357.html Sent from the FFmpeg-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
