Audio/Video Sync issue with HD transcoding
by jingke2000＠gmail.com 09 Jul '09

09 Jul '09

I compiled FFmpeg together with faac and x264 libraries from latest code. I need to transcode video files from 1080i transport stream to 720p mp4 format. The transcoded video/audio quality is fine. However, the audio and video streams are out of sync (audio is a few second late) in the mp4 file. The source transport stream has no problem. Anyone has any idea how to config the FFmpeg correctly? Here's the comand line I use: ffmpeg -i input.ts<file://192.168.120.13/share/IPTVRecorder/1852atlanta2009-05-27T201500Z.ts>-threads 4 -f mp4 -vcodec libx264 -s 1280x720 -flags +loop -cmp +chroma -deblockalpha 0 -deblockbeta 0 -crf 24 -bt 6000k -refs 1 -coder 0 -subq 5 -partitions +parti4x4+parti8x8+partp8x8 -g 250 -keyint_min 25 -level 30 -qmin 10 -qmax 51 -trellis 2 -sc_threshold 40 -i_qfactor 0.71 -acodec libfaac -ab 128k -ar 48000 -ac 2 output.mp4 My machine has dual dual-core CPUs and 4 GB memory running Windows XP SP2. Thanks in advance.

Resize video with same aspect ratio

Hello I try to create a script, which automatically generates 3gp files from flv files. Can ffmpeg analyze, if the source-video is 4:3 or 16:9 in a first step, so that I can create the video in a second step with the correct target format? Or is there a other tool, which I have to use for analyze the source- file? For example. if source is 320x240 (4:3) then ffmpeg -i input.flv -f 3gp -vcodec h264 -b 100 -s 176x132 -acodec libfaac -ab 32k -ar 22050 -ac 1 output.3gp else (16:9) ffmpeg -i input.flv -f 3gp -vcodec h264 -b 100 -s 176x100 -acodec libfaac -ab 32k -ar 22050 -ac 1 output.3gp All will work on OS X. I will try to do it with a shell script, or if not possible with a c-command line utility. Regards, Oliver

DV100 encoded MXF file?
by matt＠mattandtiff.com 01 Jul '09

I'm getting an error when I try the following... I have a QuickTime wrapped file with the following streams: Stream #0.0(eng): Video: dvvideo, yuv422p, 960x720, 59.94 tb(r) Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: pcm_s16be, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 1536 kb/s Stream #0.2(eng): Data: tmcd / 0x64636D74 What I want to to is re-wrap the video stream only into a MXF file. I'm using the following command line: ffmpeg -i input.mov -vcodec copy -an output.mxf when I try to do this I get the following error: [mxf @ 0x36473a0]track 0: could not find essence container ul, codec not currently supported in container Could not write header for output file #0 (incorrect codec parameters ?) Due to the software I'm using I need an MXF wrapped dv100 file; mpeg2 will not work for me. I downloaded today's snapshot of ffmpeg and installed it on a Red Hat 5 x86_64 box. Is there anything I can do about this?

ffmpeg: symbol lookup error: ffmpeg: undefined symbol
by khoshgoftar＠gmail.com 30 Jun '09

Hi, I am recently facing some weird problems with ffmpeg command line I had it working perfectly on a ubuntu machine, but recently it gives me a "symbol lookup error" for almost every command, for example, doing something as simple as: ffmepg -i testvideo.flv -f mpeg1video outvideo.mpg I get this runtime error: ffmpeg: symbol lookup error: ffmpeg: undefined symbol: avcodec_decode_video2 The first guess was I had messed up with a part of source code, or maybe there is mismatch in my libav* versions , or something like that, so I used svn update to make my version up-to-date, and rebuild the whole thing, the problem still persists. I don't have any problem making ffmpeg, the problem comes when I use the command line though. Does anybody have an idea where it may come from? (just for reference, my configure options are like this: configuration: --enable-shared --disable-static --enable-gpl --enable-nonfree --enable-pthreads --enable-libfaac --enable-libfaad --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libtheora --enable-libx264 --enable-libxvid --enable-pthreads --disable-mmx --disable-optimizations --disable-stripping )

FFMPEG in comercial software?
by sven_talbot＠gmx.de 30 Jun '09

Dear list, may I introduce myself. I am a young software developer and I am about to start up a new software company. I really like to develop a video software. Can anybody tell me what I have to be aware of? I don't what to be in the "hall of shame" ;) I know, I'll have to deliver the LGPL and the copyright noices. any changes to the library have to be disclosed. What is when I deliver ffmpeg in binary format? Furthermore, how do I compile ffmpeg without those GPL'ed libraries? Maybe there are binaries out there, but I couldn't finde them :( with kind regards Sven -- GRATIS f?r alle GMX-Mitglieder: Die maxdome Movie-FLAT! Extracting 2 audio channels from a video with 5.1 audio
by george_ou＠lanarchitect.net 30 Jun '09

30 Jun '09

I was wondering if there was a way to just extract the front-left and front-right audio channels from a video clip. I don't need the video channel, but don't mind if it came with the output file since I have another tool that can remove that. I am not looking for a mix-down of 5.1 to stereo. I only want the front-left and front-right audio channels. George Ou

How can I make 64 views decoding?
by taery70＠yahoo.com 30 Jun '09

Hi all, ? I'm sorry to send without?arranging my?texts. That's why I'm sending again. ? I?ve succeeded to create multiple instances until 16 threads. And I could decode 16 video streams at a same time. By the way, after making?64 threads, if I try to decode 17 video streams, it doesn?t work. Each view turns red color and then my program occurs access violation error. ? Is it possible to decode more than 16 instances of codec with ffmpeg library? I wonder if there is some setting for multiple instances.
