Hi all, I have a simple problem and it's taken a better part of my day but I can't crack it. I just want to convert a set of images into a movie, any format is fine. I tried with JPG and BMP files but to no avail. Also tried all examples that I found on the Net but with no luck. Here's an example of output. thank you for your help [gord at dv film]# ffmpeg -f image2 -r 10 -s 100x100 -i *.bmp test.avi FFmpeg version SVN-rUNKNOWN, Copyright (c) 2000-2007 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib --mandir=/usr/share/man --incdir=/usr/include/ffmpeg --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libogg --enable-libvorbis --enable-libogg --enable-libtheora --enable-libfaad --enable-libfaac --enable-libgsm --enable-xvid --enable-x264 --enable-liba52 --enable-liba52bin --enable-pp --enable-shared --enable-pthreads --enable-gpl --disable-strip libavutil version: 49.4.0 libavcodec version: 51.40.4 libavformat version: 51.12.1 built on Jun 4 2007 11:02:12, gcc: 4.1.1 20070105 (Red Hat 4.1.1-52) Input #0, image2, from 'screenshot_1.bmp': Duration: 00:00:00.1, start: 0.000000, bitrate: N/A Stream #0.0: Video: bmp, bgr24, 240x160, 10.00 fps(r) Unable for find a suitable output format for 'screenshot_1.bmp'

[Ffmpeg-user] non monotone timestamp error
by meenz.tronix＠gmail.com 29 Jun '09

Hi, I am trying to stream a continous stream from network camera through ffserver. However there are some issues regarding timestamp, and I get the followin error. Error, non monotone timestamps 1246262956873 >= 1246262956840 Mon Jun 29 13:39:25 2009 Error writing frame to output I observed that the previous 2 packet dts values were the following cur dts 1246262956838 ,pkt dts 1246262956873 cur dts 1246262956873 ,pkt dts 1246262956840 Could anyone please tell me why the latest pkt dts becomes smaller than the previous one . Is there any workaround for this problem. Thanks in advance Meenz -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/non-monotone-timestamp-error-tp24250498p24250498.html Sent from the FFmpeg-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

How can I make 64 views decoding?
by taery70＠yahoo.com 29 Jun '09

29 Jun '09

Hi all, ? I?ve succeeded to create multiple instances until 16 threads. And I could decode 16 video streams at a same time. By the way, after making?64 threads, if I try to decode 17 video streams, it doesn?t work. Each view turns red color and then my program occurs access violation error. Is it possible to decode more than 16 instances of codec with ffmpeg library? I wonder if there is some setting for multiple instances. Taery

Handle map_meta_data with filenames including spaces
by michael.suessner＠utanet.at 29 Jun '09

29 Jun '09

Hi, I use FFmpeg for video conversion and would like to copy the meta information using map_meta_data option. Since my file names contain blanks I user the following syntax "${output}":"${output}" This syntax works fine to the -i option but it is not working for the meta_data Any suggestions what am I doing wrong? swf -> mov using ffmpeg?
by scubacuda＠gmail.com 27 Jun '09

I'm relatively new to the ffmpeg scene, and I was wondering if it could (as a stand alone tool) convert swf files to mov format. If so or if not, any pointers in the right direction be greatly appreciated.

-title argument gone?
by edooper＠gmail.com 27 Jun '09

27 Jun '09

Hi, I've compiled ffmpeg 0.50 from source (linux x86_64), and the -title argument seems to be gone. I've checked the source as well, and there is no trace of it left. The included documentation still mentions it, though. I use ffmpeg to transcode my mythtv recordings for my ipod, and I use the -title argument to set the display name of the recording. Without doing that, the display name is blank. Did I miss something with ./configure or is there alternate functionality now to set the title? Thanks, Erik

Thumbnailing with -r option not behaving as expected
by mikeb＠utherverse.com 26 Jun '09

26 Jun '09

Hey all, I'm new to the list. I've been fighting with ffmpeg to thumbnail videos for an automated process, the -r rate option doesn't seem to behave as expected. On a 30 second video, I want to thumbnail every 5 seconds which should create 6 images.. ex: rate is (Number of thumbs / Duration) or (30 / 5 = 6), (6 / 30 = 0.2) ffmpeg -I inputVideo.avi -r 0.2 thumb_%00d.jpg Instead of creating 6 clips, it creates 8 - the first 2 images are the first 2 frames of the video, then the rest are off by half a second. I've seen other users complain of this via google, and no solutions. Seems to work fine if I just seek and request the individual frames by calling ffmpeg multiple times. I'm using the tripp compile of ffmpeg on Windows XP. Thanks for the help! -Mike
