Hi, As mentioned, I'm using ffmpeg to encode a whole bunch of videos. It turns out that in a few of the videos, there is a bit error or something like that, and the output is useless - large square colorful blotches all over the video. Interestingly, the same clip can be encoded with other tools, and then it looks fine. Is there anything I can do to tune the error tolerance when reading the input clip, to avoid these blotches? Hi, I'm encoding lots of video clips, and some have a lot more information that others (ie, a lot more going on in the video, more movement, more colors, etc). If I set a low bitrate, clips with high entropy look bad, so I need to increase the bitrate. However, how will this affect the clips that are more static? Will they also be larger, or does the encoder use only the bitrate that is necessary to encode? Can I tune this behaviour with -maxrate and -minrate? I'm mostly encoding to h264 formats, using x264. I'm using both from recent subversion/git repos. Cheers, Ketil

constant bit rate encoding for webm format

can we do constant bit rate encoding for webm format....? if yes please tell how. I tried as following ffmpeg -t video.mpeg -b 256000 -f webm -vcodec libvpx video.webm but it seems there is no effect of specifying bit rate ...... I tried some more bit rate also . but all converted file for different bit rate are of same size.

--libogg removed from the latest version

Hi, I see that '-- libogg ' has been removed from the latest version. Why did they removed it? Can anyone point me to what should I used instead? I'm trying to convert to *.ogg format. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
