LXF decoder ! Need help !
by Tuuls 03 May '12

03 May '12

Hello. Someone can help with unpacking LXF container? The fact that the LXF files from the new servers can not be preprocessed in ffmpeg. The case is probably not in the files themselves, as they are exported from the old systems are handled beautifully, but the problem is probably in the file header. And can we somehow add the module metadata extraction? http://refile.net/f/?6j Here is a small file that I exported from Harris server. It contains the metadata and the video format DVСPRO25 . when I try to open it in ffmpeg, I get an error [lxf @ 000000000035A920] checksum error [lxf @ 000000000035A920] expected 120 B size header, got 0 Thanks in advance ! -- View this message in context: http://ffmpeg-users.933282.n4.nabble.com/LXF-decoder-Need-help-tp3507549p35… Sent from the FFmpeg-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Invalid non monotonically increasing dts
by richard 10 Apr '12

Downloaded a live concert (320 kbps) using get_iplayer. Unpacked the flv file using: ffmpeg -i input.flv -acodec copy output.m4a but ffmpeg aborts with this error message: [ipod @ 0x8dff810] Application provided invalid, non monotonically increasing dts to muxer in stream 0: 634952 >= 634599 av_interleaved_write_frame(): Invalid data found when processing input MP4ERROR: MP4File::FindIntegerProperty: no such property - moov.mvhd.modificationTime Searching for a solution or workaround I found: https://lists.ffmpeg.org/pipermail/ffmpeg-devel/2011-March/110053.html and http://ffmpeg.org/pipermail/ffmpeg-user/2011-May/001053.html Not sure whether the suggested patches would break something else. Tried to re-encode the flv with: ffmpeg -i input.flv -acodec libfaac -ab 320k output.m4a This produced a playable m4a but it encoded at 152kbps instead of 320kbps. I wanted 320 kbps sound quality. I'm trying to find a way to unpack this flv to m4a at 320 kbps without losing sound quality.

.m4a to .flv - image/video fails
by nreddig＠ptd.net 31 Mar '12

31 Mar '12

Hi all, I have greatly appreciated the information I have already gleaned from reading this forum. However I still can not solve my current problem. I am trying to convert from .m4a to .flv. These are podcast files (.m4a) built in garage band. Pictures were added as well and we would like to use this format to create weekly announcements because Garage Band is so easy for our non-technically oriented staff. Using ffmpeg the audio converts just fine but the "video" is not right. I guess it's because these files include chapter data not actual video. However when I convert it to any format the images fly through at different rates, then it seems to get stuck on a picture in the middle. The format I would like to convert to is flash so that I can easy display multiple announcement files using a flash player. I can convert .mov to .flv no problem. Converting .m4a to .mov and then .flv doesn't produce any better results. Here are the before and after files: http://www.warwicksd.org/warwick.m4a http://www.warwicksd.org/output.flv I used the following to get my conversion: ffmpeg -i warwick.m4a -b 300k -r 12 -s 300x300 -ar 22050 -y -ab 96k output.flv FFmpeg version SVN-rUNKNOWN, Copyright (c) 2000-2007 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --enable-gpl --enable-libfaac --enable-libfaad --enable- libmp3lame --disable-vhook --enable-shared libavutil version: 49.5.0 libavcodec version: 51.44.0 libavformat version: 51.14.0 built on Oct 22 2007 15:31:25, gcc: 3.3 20030304 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 1640) Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from 'warwick.m4a': Duration: 00:00:55.9, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 100 kb/s Stream #0.0(eng): Audio: mpeg4aac, 44100 Hz, stereo Stream #0.1(eng): Video: mjpeg, yuvj420p, 300x300, 44100.00 fps(r) Stream #0.2(eng): Data: tx3g / 0x67337874 Stream #0.3(eng): Data: text / 0x74786574 Output #0, flv, to 'output.flv': Stream #0.0(eng): Video: flv, yuv420p, 300x300, q=2-31, 300 kb/s, 12.00 fps (c) Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: libmp3lame, 22050 Hz, stereo, 96 kb/s Stream mapping: Stream #0.1 -> #0.0 Stream #0.0 -> #0.1 Press [q] to stop encoding frame= 83 fps= 21 q=2.0 Lsize= 1099kB time=6.9 bitrate=1301.6kbits/s video:70kB audio:657kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead 51.296550% .mov files convert nicely to .flv but these .m4as are just not working. Our current staff is very eager to use these Garage Band files to communicate announcements. I have been so desperate to get this particular file type to convert that I have been experimenting with grabbing the frames every 5 secs. and then rebuilding the images into video. This produces strange results and seems to be more programming then should be necessary. Thanks in advanced for any solutions you can provide. Nancy Reddig Web Programmer Warwick SD

Scene detection
by foripepe＠yahoo.com 01 Mar '12

01 Mar '12

Hi, I would like to generate images from videos at every scene changes. My present solution is: - ffmpeg -i source_video -r 25 -an -vcodec mjpeg destination_video.avi - lav2yuv -S list.el destination_video.avi It generates a scene list text file with time codes that I use later to creating images. I was wondering maybe there is an easier solution. I have browsed the net to get a better solution (ffmpeg, sc_threshold etc.), but I couldn't find any other just my present lav2yus solution. Is it possible to use ffmpeg to create images on scene changes? Or is it possible to use ffmpeg to create a text file with the time codes of scene changes? If you have any idea, I would be very happy. Thanks in advance.

dvbsub problem
by fencingleo＠gmail.com 13 Feb '12

13 Feb '12

Hello, I have some problems copying subtitle stream in a MPEG-TS file. I have a saved dvb MPEG-TS stream from my DVB device, and want to transcode it from h264 to mpeg4 video format while keeping the subtitle track untouched. There is no error reported from the ffmpeg process, but somehow the subtitle information is lost in the generated MPEG-TS file. When I view the original TS file in VLC, it displays the subtitle just fine. But with the generated file, the subtitle track and information is there, yet vlc doesn't display any subtitle. So I played with ffmpeg for a bit and found that when I try to extract the subtitle track from the generated TS file, I don't get anything. My idea is that if ffmpeg can (and should) mux all the stream correctly into the generated file I should be able to extract the same information from it afterward. To simplify the test I just copy the tracks and don't do any transcoding. Here's the information of the original file: Input #0, mpegts, from 'original.ts': Duration: 00:00:59.76, start: 12599.390500, bitrate: 4145 kb/s Program 1 Stream #0.0[0x44]: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 192 kb/s Stream #0.1[0x45]: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 192 kb/s Stream #0.2[0x46]: Video: h264, yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:11 DAR 20:11], 25 fps, 25 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc Stream #0.3[0x47](zho): Subtitle: dvbsub I ran the ffmpeg command like this: ffmpeg -i original.ts -vcodec copy -acodec copy -scodec copy new.ts The new.ts has this information: Input #0, mpegts, from 'new.ts': Duration: 00:00:59.76, start: 1.400000, bitrate: 4074 kb/s Program 1 Service01 Metadata: name : Service01 provider_name : FFmpeg Stream #0.0[0x100]: Video: h264, yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:11 DAR 20:11], 25 fps, 25 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc Stream #0.1[0x101]: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 192 kb/s Stream #0.2[0x102](zho): Subtitle: dvbsub The container looks right, except that Stream 0.2 doesn't have anything in it. I tried to extract the subtitle stream with ffmpeg: ffmpeg -i new.ts -an -vn -scodec copy -f rawvideo subtitle.data Subtitle.data is an empty file. To verify that the command works on the original TS file, ffmpeg -i original.ts -an -vn -scodec copy -f rawvideo subtitle.data This gives a subtitle.data of 108940 bytes. Also towards the end of ffmpeg output gives some hint: Output of extracting track from the original TS: Input #0, mpegts, from '*original.ts*': Duration: 00:00:59.76, start: 12599.390500, bitrate: 4145 kb/s Program 1 Stream #0.0[0x44]: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 192 kb/s Stream #0.1[0x45]: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 192 kb/s Stream #0.2[0x46]: Video: h264, yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:11 DAR 20:11], 25 fps, 25 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc Stream #0.3[0x47](zho): Subtitle: dvbsub Output #0, rawvideo, to 'subtitle.data': Metadata: encoder : Lavf52.64.2 Stream #0.0(zho): Subtitle: dvbsub Stream mapping: Stream #0.3 -> #0.0 Press [q] to stop encoding [NULL @ 0x2520d60]missing picture in access unit size= *106kB* time=57.86 bitrate= 15.1kbits/s video:0kB audio:0kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead inf% Output from extracting track from the ffmpeg created TS: Input #0, mpegts, from '*new.ts*': Duration: 00:00:59.76, start: 1.400000, bitrate: 4074 kb/s Program 1 Service01 Metadata: name : Service01 provider_name : FFmpeg Stream #0.0[0x100]: Video: h264, yuv420p, 720x576 [PAR 16:11 DAR 20:11], 25 fps, 25 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc Stream #0.1[0x101]: Audio: ac3, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 192 kb/s Stream #0.2[0x102](zho): Subtitle: dvbsub Output #0, rawvideo, to 'subtitle.data': Metadata: encoder : Lavf52.64.2 Stream #0.0(zho): Subtitle: dvbsub Stream mapping: Stream #0.2 -> #0.0 Press [q] to stop encoding [NULL @ 0x23c4dd0]missing picture in access unit size= *0kB* time=10000000000.00 bitrate= 0.0kbits/s video:0kB audio:0kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead -nan% So does the mpegts muxer not put anything into the dvbsub track?
