I just did a fresh git clone and there are only a handful of ffpreset files now. There used to be a lot more - fast, medium, slow, etc. What happened?

3gp file without moov atom

I've set up a video conversion service and I'm seeing a fair amount of 3GP videos without moov atoms. They apparently have their video data in the mdat atom. Is there a way to get ffmpeg to handle this? Right now it just aborts saying "moov atom not found".

Hi, with version - FFmpeg version SVN-r22048, Copyright (c) 2000-2010 the FFmpeg developers built on Feb 25 2010 17:20:36 with gcc 4.3.3 - was this issue ok - vlc player showed bitrate correctly. Can FFMPEF convert the final frame of Flash movie with vector-based graphics into an image (PNG or JPG)

We are looking for a tool to convert a Flash movie (SWF) that is a mix of vector-based graphics and images into an non-dynamic image file PNG or JPEG, on Linux. On Windows there are tools available, they apparently start the Flash Player via VB6, run the movie and then take the image snapshot. Is FFMPEG able to play a SWF movie like that? Joop Kaashoek

Streaming images

Hi all, I never used ffmpeg or any other kind related software so i'm really newbie in this stuff. I need to mount a "system" to stream pictures, i think maybe i can make a video and stream it, but with this process i lose flexibility to change on-the-fly pictures since i need to "encoding" (not sure if right word) the pictures in video and stream the video (other problem is like the refresh time of the pictures are different so making a video leaves a problem, i cant have a video larger that the minimum refresh rate or the rest of the video will never be show....). what i would like is to stream pictures where i could change the pictures on-the-fly with no problems... don't know if that is possible? like a live stream of pictures :) Thanks in advance! Hi, When I execute ./configure --enable-ffplay --enable-memalign-hack, Below error not pops up, Could you give me a favor? gcc is unable to create an executable file. If gcc is a cross-compiler, use the --enable-cross-compile option. Only do this if you know what cross compiling means. C compiler test failed. If you think configure made a mistake, make sure you are using the latest version from SVN. If the latest version fails, report the problem to the ffmpeg-user(a)mplayerhq.hu mailing list or IRC #ffmpeg on irc.freenode.net. Include the log file "config.log" produced by configure as this will help solving the problem.

Fastest way to convert from TS to FLV

Hi. I'm converting some TS files to FLV with the following command: C:\Record\tv>c:\utils\ffmpeg-r26400\bin\ffmpeg.exe -i myfile.ts -y -f flv -s 320x240 -b 464k -ac 2 -ar 22050 -ab 48k myfile.flv I have a quadcore CPU, and I need to have the conversion as fast as possible. Could you advise me some ffmpeg commands (or codecs) to make the conversion fastest as now? Thank you very much! Bye.

Deinterlace and change framerate with -vcodec copy

Hello everyone! I would like ask for an advice. I have some mpegts files captured from DVB card. They contain some video streams and some audio streams. I know how to extract the streams from the mpegts file and how to use them to create a mkv file, for example. I do it like this:ffmpeg -i DVBchannel.mpegts -vcodec copy -acodec copy movie.mkv But I have a problem with the resulting file. The original video streams (in file DVBchannel.mpegts) are interlaced at 50fps. I want the final file to play as simply as possible (e.g. without the deinterlace filters), so I would like to deinterlace the video in advance. But I assume it is not possible with -vcodec copy. Or am I mistaken? If it would be achievable, it would probably only work with those video codecs, for which it is possible to somehow easily combine the two adjacent video frames into one. Anyway, is there such a codec? My point here is that I do not want to reencode the video "just" to deinterlace it. But as far as I know it is necessary in order to use the deinterlacing filters. Am I correct? To my knowledge, the deinterlace filters just somehow combine the frames together, but they do not change the framerate. And here, I _want_ the framerate to be changed from 50fps to 25fps. So, basically, I _want_ half of the frames to be deleted. But, I want the resulting frames to be complete, not just odd or even lines. So, is it possible with -vcodec copy? And my second question is about the framerate itself. Let's say I have managed to get a 25fps noninterlaced file movie.mkv. Is there any "easy" way to change the framerate to 24fps? By "easy" I mean without reencoding (or: with -vcodec copy). This, in my opinion, should be possible, because it seems like a rather minor change. Here I would like to emphasize that what I want to change is the _framerate_ not the number of frames. So, I expect the video to be longer (take more time to play) after such a framerate change. I tried the intermediate rawvideo format method described on the mentioned website, but it is not a solution for me, because it requires reencoding. I would really like to do it with -vcodec copy. I should have written 50 fields per second, not frames per second. By "interlaced at 50fps" I was trying to tell that the video contains 50 fields (or half frames) per second. But I did not know about the difference between frames and fields before you replied. So, thank you for pointing that out.
