I tried to use FFmpeg to change the aspect ratio flag in an MPEG file, but it didn't. Am I doing it wrong, or is it not possible without re-encoding? libass, fontconfig and subtitle fonts

Hi All, When I try to burn subtitles with a ass file in ffmpeg, it always seems to want DejaVu Sans, whatever font defined in the .ass file. For example: ffmpeg -i test.mp4 -c:v libx264 -vf ass=sample.ass -c:a copy test_sub.mp4 fontconfig: Selected font is not the requested one: 'DejaVu Sans' != ''Liberation Sans" [V4+ Styles] Format: Name, Fontname, Fontsize, PrimaryColour, SecondaryColour, OutlineColour, BackColour, Bold, Italic, Underline, StrikeOut, ScaleX, ScaleY, Spacing, Angle, BorderStyle, Outline, Shadow, Alignment, MarginL, MarginR, MarginV, Encoding Style: Default,Liberation Sans,20,&H00FFFFFF,&H000000FF,&H00000000,&H00000000,0,0,0,0,100,100,0,0,1,2,1,2,10,10,10,1 Any other produces the same issue. I'vetried with several font names as in the information of fontforge, nothing seems to work. All other parameters work, like color, attributes, size, … Anyone? FFmpeg is latest from git. RGB-YUV color shift

Hello, I am seeing a slight color shift when using ffmpeg to encode to yuv based codecs like prores and v210 from an rgb source. The resulting file has slightly more saturation and gamma than the original- it doesn't look way different, but there is enough of a difference to be noticed. I'm assuming this has to do with the rgb->yuv colorspace conversion, since encoding from a yuv source to a yuv codec shows no perceivable color difference. Has anyone run across this and if so, found a way to keep the color shift negligible? Here's a sample command: ffmpeg -f rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb24 -s 1920x1080 -r 23.976 -i c3yoz4vuuy.video.raw -vcodec prores -profile 3 test.mov Thanks for any help you can provide -George

ATSC TS live transcode on DL360 G4?

Hello again, It simply looks that 2 double-core Xeon at 3.4Ghz (HP DL 360) can not transcode mpeg2 ts live stream coming at ~20 Mb/s to h264. Even with 'preset ultrafast' the load goes above 4 and the buffer overruns. The minimal processor that is able to do this up to now is a single Phenom 2 X6 Black at 3.4 Ghz, and it sometimes gets with load ~5 on it's six cores. Thanks, George Hello, I want to reduce bit rate of ~18Mb/s ATSC live stream which I capture over the air with HDHomerun box, and it looks that an HP DL360 G4 server (two 64 bit double core Xeon processors) can not do the job. Is there some way to make this functional? My idea is to reduce the stream from 18Mb/s to about 4-5Mb/s at hd720. The problem is that processor load goes over 4 and starts to overrun the buffer. Is there a way to make the transcoding somehow work with x264 on that computer? Problem transcoding from MP4 (H264 - AAC) to OGG (DIRAC - FLAC)

Hello, I am trying to do a lossy-to-lossless transcoding from an MP4 file (with one H264 video stream and one AAC audio stream) to an OGG file (with a DIRAC video stream and a FLAC audio stream). The command line I am using is this: ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vcodec libschroedinger -q:v 0 -acodec flac output.ogg and I am getting the following errors (complete output is at the end): [ogg @ 0000000001F29570] Unsupported codec id in stream 0 Could not write header for output file #0 (incorrect codec parameters ?) Does anybody know an appropriate way to do this kind of transcoding? AVI, WMV, FLV, MOV and MP4 to libx264 MP4 conversion bugs

Hi there, I have used the following command line expression to compress and convert AVI, WMV, FLV, MOV and MP4 files to libx264 MP4. *ffmpeg -i abc.flv -vcodec libx264 -vf scale=-1:360 -qscale 7 -acodec libvo_aacenc -ab 32 -ar 24000 abc.mp4* To run this command I use PHP exec() function. I need to know the most appropriate and the correct commands to convert each and every (above mentioned) format to H.264 MP4 format without changing the aspect ratio and video height less than or equal to 360 pixels. And with aac audio encoding codec. Sometimes ffmpeg fails to convert above formats but not always. It may be depending on the source file's codecs. So I need to know how the above command should be modified to convert each video format mentioned above. Thanks

Hi the latest git fails to compile for me, so I tried getting something older (and stable?) but same breakage, included below. I'm on Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick). codec copy fails with malformed bitstreams in mpegts

Hi, Every now and then ffmpeg fails when remuxing a mpegts file with the following error: [mpegts @ 0x1677a60] H.264 bitstream malformed, no startcode found, use the h264_mp4toannexb bitstream filter (-bsf h264_mp4toannexb) av_interleaved_write_frame(): Invalid argument The file I am remuxing can be downloaded here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/b8v81l4l7lhjgj0/6Klxfejcki I am thinking this is a bug and even if there is an error in the stream the remuxing shouldn't break.
