Hello. Need some help. Random hangs (on the server with Xeon E5450 2.4Ghz loaded by 25-30%), even when reading files from a local web server 2. HLS in the playlist starts to play with the predictions of the last movie, and not from the beginning of the playlist. 3. Bitrate jumps from 4000 to 6000. 4. I cannot adjust the buffering of input and output (need preload ~30 seconds of input stream and ~1 second output buffer). In VLC errors: main warning: buffer way too early (-126202), clearing queue main warning: timing screwed, stopping resampling main debug: audio output is starving (-822504), playing silence main warning: buffer too late (75712), up-sampling main warning: timing screwed, stopping resampling main warning: buffer too late (135950), up-sampling main warning: buffer way too late (199666), dropping buffer main warning: buffer way too late (181035), dropping buffer main warning: resampling stopped after 7038679 usec (drift: -24118) Please, help me configure ffmpeg for TV channel broadcasting. extract video based on timecode track/channel

I am trying to create extract subclips from a larger video using timecodes. However, instead of the regular timecode track (which always starts at 00:00:00), I want to use the timecode track that comes with the video. The regular command (below) uses the good old fashioned timecode relative to 0. Does anyone have any suggestions? Stop encoding at absolute time?

Hi, forgive me if this is documented somewhere, but I didn't find it. For encoding we can use -ss for absolute start time and -t for duration, but is there an absolute end time, similar to -ss? It would be useful since players tend to show this info on OSD and would save some working out of timing. Thanks D.

Revisit FFmpeg Frame Lost

If I insist on using *av_read_frame()*, how can I avoid this "frame lost" issue? Please do help.. Segmenting an rtp H264 stream of an IP camera

Hi all, I have been trying for a while to get an rtp stream from an IP camera (coded with H264) adn segment it in order to build and HLS strem (something that i am already doing using a file as the input media). The problem I am facing is that using the following command: ffmpeg -analyzeduration 10 -i rtsp://192.168.10.149/live1.sdp -g 50 -r 25 -ac 2 -b:a 128k -c:v libx264 -c:a libfdk_aac -profile:v baseline -map 0 -flags -global_header -f segment -segment_time_delta 0.03 -segment_time 3 live1_level2_%d.ts I get the stream encoded and segmented properly but the output is delivered right after the process of ffmpeg ends. In other words, I get all the segments at once when I stop ffmpeg, meanwhile the process is running I get nothing. I believe this must be possible to accomplish, as I am already doing it with video files. I have the feeling I may miss something in my x264 coding options. Thanks in advance for any help. Hi, I noticed that ffmpeg doesn't support h264-encoding out of the box. So I found a short tutorial: http://ffmpeg.org/trac/ffmpeg/wiki/How%20to%20quickly%20compile%20libx264 I did everything mentioned on this page and installed the videolan-package successfully. After re-installing ffmpeg (1.1.3) I still don't have the h264-encoder activated (although I used the configure param "--enable-libx264") :-( Is there a special param I have to add to "configure"? last frame missing from mpeg2 and mpeg1 encodes

Hi there, I'm missing the last frame on all my mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 encodes. I'm using a 1000 frame test quicktime as a source with frame numbers as the only image so it's really easy to see the missing frame. The console output looks like it is reaching frame 1000, but the output is too short. (reading the resulting file back in with ffprobe shows a shorter than expected duration). Is there something wrong with my command line? I've tried the 1000 frame source as uncompressed 8 bit, and ProRes to both MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. Below is the output from the MPEG 2 encode. wmalossless - a/v sync issue

Hello all, I am working with ffmpeg in the context of Kaltura (kaltura.org) I am updating the version of ffmpeg used by this product to support decoding of the wmalossless codec. As I have nothing else to really go on, I compiled ffmpeg similarly to how the ffmpeg that was distributed with kaltura was compiled. The aim being to include the same libraries, but take advantage of newer codecs that had been built into the ffmpeg. I was able to get ffmpeg to compile from a git clone taken yesterday. It works OK in that files are getting transcoded, however, it seems with the wmalossless input files, the video ends up very out of sync with the audio. Here is the sample data I have: Original video: http://jabba.servebeer.com:51234/store/testfile3.wmv transcoded to H.264 and AAC: http://jabba.servebeer.com:51234/store/output-testfile3.mp4 log from transcode: http://pastebin.com/3huu9m9P I've renamed the input-output files from what's reflected in the log. I ensure they are accurate. Notice in the log entries complaining about Queue input being incorrect and the output audio codec complaining about DTS\PTS. I have minimal control over the arguments used when doing the transcoding. It's whatever Kaltura tried to use. I believe I have some control, but I am not sure how much at this point. generating jpgs and sound at the same time problem with specific inputs

Hello, I have been trying to find the best configuration options to generate jpgs and sound at the same time. The input comes from FMS (rtmp) and it can contain various codecs. It's a live stream so I am setting analyzeduration 0 but by using this option ffmpeg will not have enough time to read the sound codec. I tried to break them down and use different configuration for sound and video but it didn't work. Recoding an ASF-Stream with ffmpeg and ffserver for remote ffserver

Hi everyone I am trying to transcode some camera streams from IP-Cams on our local server (to save WiFi load) and use a low quality encode to bring the streams to a remote server (quality doesn't matter but our internet connection upload should not be cropped to much). On our local server runs ffmpeg as delivered by the Packman repository for OpenSuse 11.4 . On the remote host I could recompile it if necessary, but I think that would be over the top since my problem occurs on the local server. My idea was now to keep the settings above for locl streaming and to make a new encode for the remote viewer. I don't care what codec to use for the connection from local to remote server but it shouldn't be to demanding on bandwith (we have an upstream of ~ 3000) and I don't want to use more than 1000 for 4 streams ) Does anybody have an idea how I could get a stream working for this scenario?
