Hello, What are my options for EPG with ffmpeg? Currently I am grabbing a DVB-T stream (with mumudvb) and encoding it to x264, but it the process I am loosing EPG. Is there a method to inserting EPG back into the stream? Thank you. Mitja

help with live capture and audio sync issues

Hi, I have very inconsistent results with doing live capture. Sometimes the resulting file has perfect audio sync, but sometimes it doesn’t. I’ve tried different combinations but the results are never consistent. I am capturing video from a black magic design UltraStudio Mini Recorder and the audio from an external Mic. This is done on a MacBook Pro. I’m trying to get the capture to produce a result without sync delay but in any case, why would the results be inconsistent? The MacBook is always pretty idle with no memory issues when doing the capture, and ffmpeg isn’t consuming too much cpu. Any suggestions on what else I can try to get consistent sync? thanks Ricardo

Hello, When I run the following command, I get the error messages in red: Application provided invalid, non monotonically increasing dts to muxer in stream Theses messages are in group of 4-5 and happen around every minute. Sometime there is frames drop, see second part output bellow 4 drops are dropped, or no drop. Drops seem to lead to audio/video de-sync. How to fix that? Decklink input buffer overrun

Hi, I need to stream the 2 inputs from a DeckLink Duo card in FHD. So far I could compile ffmpeg with decklink support and capture one input at a time without problems. When I try to capture from the 2 inputs I start getting the following message repeatedly on both terminals: [decklink @ 0x32287e0] Decklink input buffer overrun! decoding jpeg2000 problem

Hi all, I've run into a problem when converting a j2c image sequence to ProRes. The dark levels look horrible, especially dark gradients, which seem like posterized. The bright levels seem to look better. I think it's a problem related to 12 bit to 10 bit conversion. Is there anything I can do to make it look better? HEVC decoding of first frame

Hello everyone, I've got a question regarding the decoding process for HEVC-coded sequences. When timing the process I found that the decoding of the first frame always takes twice as long as the decoding of all the other frames. This seems to be true independent from the resolution. It is also not related to inter coding, as all frames are intra coded with the same QP in the example given below. Other decoders (e.g. HM or libde265) do not show this behavior for the same input sequences. Here is an examplary output for a single frame and for two frames. It is timed using the linux time-function, furthermore single core processing is forced and priority is set to the highest level. Extract images from concatenate .VOB

Hi, I'm trying to extract images (frames) from some DVD. For this I think I need to concatenate multiple .VOB (like VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB) to be able to extract images that are in the second, third, etc. VOB. Unfortunately it looks it doesn't work when I put the seek (-ss) before the input, to do a fast extraction. I need to put the seek after the input for it to work, and this way, the extraction is really slow (all frames need to be uncompress until the seek time). How do I concat MP4 without losing audio sync?

I've split and joined MP4 files with QuickTime Player Pro 7 before. I'd like to learn how to do the same in FFMPEG. I think I have the syntax down, but the audio loses sync in the output MP4. I'm taking a video called one_through_ten-timestamped.mp4 splitting it into pieces and joining it together again into one_through_ten_edited.mp4. The source video was created by FFMPEG using x264. The problem is that the output video loses audio sync after the join point (if played in QuickTime Player X. If played in VLC, the audio and video drops out at the join point). I call FFMPEG on the command-line like this: ffmpeg -f concat -i ~/Desktop/one_through_ten_edit_list.txt -c copy ~/Desktop/one_through_ten_edited.mp4 When I run this, I get quite a few errors that look like the following: [mp4 @ 0x7fdd63863000] Non-monotonous DTS in output stream 0:1; previous: 219766, current: 168772; changing to 219767. This may result in incorrect timestamps in the output file. This may result in incorrect timestamps in the output file. The edit list is as follows: file one_through_ten-timestamped.mp4 inpoint 00:00:01.500 outpoint 00:00:05.000 file one_through_ten-timestamped.mp4 inpoint 00:00:09.500 outpoint 00:00:13.000 I understand that I need to split on keyframes--is the problem I'm seeing a consequence of splitting on an arbitrary timestamp? If so--how do I specify that I only want to split on a keyframe (or determine the timestamps for those keyframes)? System: OS X 10.9.5 ffmpeg 2.8 (via MacPorts) I'd rather not attempt to re-compile the latest GIT snapshot on my Mac if I can avoid it. That's why I like MacPorts--I don't have to spend 3 weeks determining which patches I need to apply to get something to compile and run on my Mac. But if I need to, I'll start working on it.
