I can't find any video devices on the Windows 7 source system

I would like to stream a desktop from one computer running Windows 7 to another to on a LAN running Debian 8 to show an application that is on the screen from the first computer through to the second computer that is connected to a projector. The application can't easily run on the Debian system connected to the projector because the software wasn't built for the operating system. I can't find any video devices on the Windows source system. I have command output attached.

Merge two RTSP inputs into one TS stream

Hello, I need a TS stream containing two camera angles from two IP encoders supporting RTSP. Both encoders share the same time by using a local NTP server. I used ffmpeg command like "ffmpeg -i rtsp://<encoder1> -i rtsp://<encoder2> -c copy -y filename.ts", and noticed that the second track in the ts file is always 2-3 seconds behind. I even tried multiple tracks with the same encoder as the command and logs below, but still far away to be synchronized. Please advise if there is a way to obtain synchronized video tracks from IP encoders. ffmpeg -f lavfi with -i color / r flag behaves strangely

Hi. Why does the the "r" flag behave differently in the two cases below? The output for test2.avi shows 25 fps instead of the desired 50 fps. This page : (https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/H.264) from ffmpeg documention claims that in order to ensure compatibility between every device, we have to produce Baseline level3 mp4 files. But the devices quoted are really old. - Since nowadays, the device are more and more performant, could we assume that most device supports "main profile" ? It seems to be the hypothesis of Youtube since they are compressing their lowest quality movies in "main profile". - Are you aware of some research/tests on this subject ? Thanks in advance aldo

How to grab the desktop in the webm format

Hi! Nice to meet you. First of all, let me introduce myself to this group: my name is Alexandre. I am a 44 y. o. man who work in the central library of the "Health Sciences Center" of the UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro). At home, I only use Linux to all the tasks. Sometimes, I like to record the desktop, as you can see in the link below: http://lugarparaler.com/conheca-o-retext.html I always use "Simple Screen Record" to do this, but in the last days I've heard, for the very first time, about the webm format (and the webp for pics). And then I've googled trying to find a way to grab my desktop and save it directly in this format. I've found out the FFMPEG website and read the documentation. I've made some tests in the terminal, and I was very happy to discover I can grab my desktop with very good sound and video using the following command line: # ffmpeg -video_size 1600x900 -framerate 30 -f x11grab -i :0.0 -f alsa -ac 2 -i hw:0 -c:v libx264 -qp 0 -preset ultrafast capture.mkv The above command is a mix of several "copy and paste" from pieces of text from the FFMEPG website, and I am not sure if I really understand what all the options do, to be honest... let's say I was lucky... But I really can't understand how to save the video in the webm format. If I change the "capture.mkv" for "capture.webm", I get an error message in the terminal. Could anybody please send me a command line to grab my desktop and save it in the webm format? I'm sorry if I'm making an obvious question... and sorry for my english too... Thanks in advance. How can I use a certain font and fontsize when using drawtext with the parameter textfile?

Hi, The command looks like this: ffmpeg.exe -i desk2.avi -vf drawtext=enable='between(t,0,5)':fontfile='C\:\\Windows\\Fonts\\arial.ttf':box=1:boxcolor=black:fontcolor=white:x=(w-tw)/2:y=h-th:textfile=sampletext.txt result.mp4 It works except that font and fontsize stay the same, no matter what parameters I enter. When I use text instead of textfile then it works as expected. How can I select another font and fontsize when overlaying text from a file? Can I store text to a variable and refer then to that variable instead of using text="abc" or textfile=sampletext.txt? Thanks for helping, LaHu

Green screen
