Hello guys, Our problem is about to converting videos to apple quick time format. The difficult part is matching output with apple recommended specification. Please help us to find what switches should we use? This is my draft command: ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -c:v prores -profile:v 2 -vf scale=1920x1080 -codec:a pcm_s16le -b:a 1536k output.mov Thanks Apple recommended specification. File Format : QuickTime (.mov files) Codec : Apple PRO RES 422 (HQ) Size : 1920x1080 pixels Video Bitrate : ~220 Mb/s Framerate : 24 or 25 fps Colorspace : YUV 422 Pixel ratio : Ratio must be 1:1 (square pixel) Progressive : The video must not be interlaced Black frame begin/end : The video must contain one black frame at the beginning and at the end Black bar scopes and logos : No logo will be accepted Black bars accepted but we need crop size information (in pixels) : * crop left: The number of whole pixels from the left of the encoded image to remove. * crop top: The number of whole pixels from the top of the encoded image to remove. * crop right: The number of whole pixels from the right of the encoded image to remove. * crop bottom: The number of whole pixels from the bottom of the encoded image to remove. Question about changing container

Hi guys! I am working on a bunch of videos that I convert from .flv to .mp4 : ffmpeg -i $s -c copy -copyts -map_metadata 0 $s That works perfectly as you could imagine, but when I seek into the result it appears that it is 10-seconds-seekable while the .flv file was 1-second-seekable... If I'm right, this is about keyframes? Does that mean keyframes depend on the container? How could I tune the .mp4 generation to end up with a 1-second-seekable video?

Hi, I’m building a fresh git clone of ffmpeg on freebsd using clang. The configure step goes fine with: ./configure --cc=/usr/bin/clang --pkg-config-flags="--static" --enable-static --disable-shared --enable-nonfree --enable-gpl --enable-hardcoded-tables --enable-version3 --enable-libfdk-aac --enable-libx264 --enable-libx265 --enable-avfilter --enable-filters --disable-indevs --disable-outdevs --disable-ffserver --disable-network Then I type 'gmake install clean’ It gets almost to the end, after it actually installs ffmpeg and ffprobe and some docs and such, then comes to a halt: INSTALL libavutil/libavutil.a INSTALL libavdevice/avdevice.h INSTALL libavdevice/version.h GEN libavdevice/libavdevice.pc .: cannot open libavformat/libavformat.version: No such file or directory gmake: *** [ffbuild/library.mak:102: libavdevice/libavdevice.pc] Error 2 Indeed, there is no libavformat.version in the libavformat directory. Am I doing something wrong or is a file missing? Downmixing an audio stream while keeping a copy of the original stream

Trimming a MOV creating out-of-sync, under-length result

Hello I'm trying to use FFmpeg for a relatively simple task of trimming a 24fps .MOV file to make a shorter .MOV. The source has been exported from Avid Media Composer. Programatically I know the in point and out point to trim to, and the arguments I'm passing to FFmpeg look like they ought to be correct (I think?). However, when I perform the trim and then line up the source with the trimmed version in Adobe Premiere, I'm finding that: - The audio is perfectly in sync to the source video, but the video track is 2 frames early- so where I would expect to see frame 100, instead, I'm seeing frame 102 - The trimmed .MOV is 1 frame too short for the -t duration that I gave I'm trying to set this up for long episodes with lots of shots in, where the automation will be helpful, but it's for animation purposes so video frame accuracy is going to be essential. For copyright reasons I can't share that footage so I've done some tests using homemade footage instead.
