FFmpeg hanging on complex filter

Hello all, Recently I upgraded my FFMPEG version to the latest release. In doing so, a command I previously used does not work anymore. Stuck with error when adding two subtitles

Hi, I‘m new to the list and hope this is the right place for this issue. I‘m using this command, to add non-english (alien) subtitles as forced and the full english subtitles as regular second subtitle track: ffmpeg -i movie-in.mp4 -i sub-alien.srt -i sub-full.srt -map 0:v -map 0:a -map 1 -map 2 -c:v copy -c:a copy -c:s mov_text -disposition:s:0 forced -metadata:s:s:0 language=eng -metadata:s:s:0 title="Alien only" -metadata:s:s:1 language=eng -metadata:s:s:1 title="English" movie-out.mp4 ffmpeg starts copying, but after a while which seems to correlate with lines in the ‚alien‘ subtitle file, I get multiple messages like this one. [mp4 @ 0x4d0e020] Application provided duration: 2638848000 / timestamp: 4113897000 is out of range for mov/mp4 format [mp4 @ 0x4d0e020] pts has no value Both subtitles are added to the movie, but the ‚alien‘ subtitle isn‘t in the right position, instead it starts right when the movie begins. After searching the web, I added ‚-fflags +genpts‘ and ‚-fix_sub_duration‘ to the command, but to no avail. ffmpeg -fflags +genpts -i movie-in.mp4 -fix_sub_duration -i sub-alien.srt -fix_sub_duration -i sub-full.srt -map 0:v -map 0:a -map 1 -map 2 -c:v copy -c:a copy -c:s mov_text -disposition:s:0 forced -metadata:s:s:0 language=eng -metadata:s:s:0 title="Alien only" -metadata:s:s:1 language=eng -metadata:s:s:1 title="English" movie-out.mp4 Having read, that bad timing information in a subtitle file might cause this issue, I used the full english subtitle twice. Once as an ‚alien‘ subtitle substitute with the ‚disposition:s:0 forced‘ option and as the regular subtitle and it worked. No error messages and the subtitle was automatically displayed as expected. Assuming, something with the original ‚alien‘ subtitle file was wrong, I copied the full english subtitle, deleted the non-alien lines, corrected the indices and ran the command again. To my surpise again I got all the error messages and the ‚alien‘ subtitles were in the wrong place. To keep things short, here‘s what else I tried: * Used only the minimum command (no metadata, language and disposition setting) * Only tried to set the ‚alien‘ subtitle * Saved and used subtitle in all combinations as UTF-8, Western (ISO-8859-15), with Windows and Linux line breaks. * Used a new file, typing a couple of subtitle lines from scratch * Converted subtitle from ‚srt‘ to ‚ass‘. (There‘s a bug report on ffmpeg mentioning that rounding times by doing so helps with a similar issue) * Converted this ‚ass‘ file back to ‚srt‘ * Downloaded ffmpeg-3.4.1-64bit-static to use it instead my Ubuntu ffmpeg 7:3.3.4-2 version * Stripped all non-alien lines from the full subtitle file, but left the indeces and timing information * Copied the mp4 file to mkv * Recoded the video to make sure, the video isn‘t part of the problem None of this worked. Interestingly enough, I only have this issue with three of my videos. There are at least two videos which I treated the same way and the subtitles were added as expected. Has anyone had the same issue, or would know, what else to try? I‘m really running out of ideas of what else to try. Happy to provide more information, if needed. Thanks.

PCM ending bits differ

I was trying to convert a pcm from 44100/2 channel to 16000/1 channel. I modified resampling_audio.c to read from the input of pcm file, and then commpared with ffmpeg command: ffmpeg.exe -f s16le -ar 44100 -ac 2 -i input.pcm -c:a pcm_s16le -ar 16000 -ac 1 -f s16le o2.pcm -y several bit at the end of output pcm files differ. stream hls from ffmpeg via media-server to TV

Hello, I use the xupnpd2 media-server (http://xupnpd.org/xupnpd2_en.html) on my router to transport hls-streams from the internet to my Panasonic-TV. I try to stream some webcams from http://www.skylinewebcams.com/. xupnpd2 doesn't support https, so my idea is to receive the hls-stream in ffmpeg. ffmpeg command: ffmpeg -i https://hddn01.skylinewebcams.com/live.m3u8?a=<variable-string> -c copy -f mpeg -listen 1 http://<private-ip>:1234 <variable-string> is in the website, e.g. http://www.skylinewebcams.com/de/webcam/czech-republic/prague/prague/old-to… and the xupnpd2-playlist: #EXTINF:-1 handler=http type=mpeg, webcam-name http://<private-ip>:1234 The stream is displayed on PC (vlc-player) without problems, but the TV doesn't display it. On http://xupnpd.org/download.html is a public-beta for xupnpd2. Maybe someone could help me to find the correct ffmpeg command or xupnpd2-settings (the russian author doesn't reply my e-mail). ffmpeg script

i am working on an FFmpeg Bash script in linux. I am currently using HD Homerun which downloads ,TS files or transport stream which is a container with an mpeg2 inside with a closed caption steam for the subtitles. Plex media server will not recognize the closed caption though VLC will. my solution to date is to shrink the .ts file using ffmpeg and then extract the subtitle using ccextract. at present I run a bash script in each folder containing .ts files, but would like one I can run from the main directory that would look in all sub directories find .ts files remux them to mp4, extract the closed caption stream to .srt and then remove the .ts files. so far i have the following script. Steven Penny from Stack Exchange contributed code and i added in the ffmpeg and ccextract lines: #! /bin/bash for x in *.ts do y=$(basename "$x" .ts) ffmpeg -i "$x" -vf scale=-1:720 -c:v libx264 -crf 23 -preset ultrafast -c:a copy "$y".mp4 ccextractor "$x" -o "$y".srt done This works well if I run it in a directory. I would like to add to it though and maybe have something like a Find . -name *.ts statement or some way for it to look in all folders on multimedia hdd for .ts files and then do the For Loop but am unsure how. I also want to add something like rm /s *.ts but am unsure if this will work or where to add it after the For Loop. Would it need a [wait] statement after [done] on the last line. any advice on writing a bash script that would search for .ts files, convert them to mp4, and then remove the .ts files would be greatly appreciated. -shaun

YouTube streaming of a static image...

Hello, I'm trying to stream (on YouTube) an image... This image is a PNG file on my computer... The dimensions of my PNG file are 1280x720... This image usually don't change but from times to times it might change and of course the stream must refresh/update it... The goal is to stream this image on YouTube without any interruption (I guess with -stream_loop) even if there is some dropped frames during a modification of my image... adapt h264/aac mpegts to rtmp streaming services

I got an hauppauge hd pvr that i suppose could unload main server from the h264 video compessing and pass the stream to the server (rtmp) for braodcasting. v4l2-ctl --list-formats returns: ioctl: VIDIOC_ENUM_FMT Index : 0 Type : Video Capture Pixel Format: 'MPEG' (compressed) Name : MPEG2-TS with AVC/AAC streams To stream to the servers i use this: ffmpeg -y -re -f mpegts -i /dev/video0 -c:v copy -c:a copy -bsf:a aac_adtstoasc -g 52 -f flv "rtmp ...... but seems the server do not like my stream ... with a precompressed h264 file i made from a webM in this way: ffmpeg -i univac.webm -g 52 -strict experimental -acodec aac -ab 56k -vcodec libx264 -vb 452k -profile:v high -level 40 -r 16 -f mov univac.mp4 and feeding the server in this way: ffmpeg -re -i univac.mp4 -c:v copy -c:a copy -f flv "rtmp ........ everything is ok ..... any idea to provide the live without recompressing? thanks. FFMPEG dropping the first two frames of segments generated through seeking

Hello, all! I'm trying to script-cut a 24 fps video and it gets close to the right thing, except for two missing frames at the beginning of every segment I cut with seeking. I've found out that index-frames (keyframes) could become an issue for seeking, so I first create an intermediate file with every frame as a index frame using this line: ffmpeg -i input.mov -c:v libx264 -g 1 -c:a copy intermediate.mp4 Then I proceed to make a cut with this line. Notice I'm drawing some text on top of it: ffmpeg -hide_banner -y -i intermediate.mp4 -ss 00:00:02.083333333333 -to 00:00:02.875000000000 -vf drawtext=fontfile=DroidSans.ttf:fontsize=48:text="segment2":fontcolor=yellow:box=1:boxborderw=16:boxcolor=black@0.5:x=w/32:y=h/18 output.mp4 No matter the length of the segment, the first two frames get dropped. Probably not relevant but: I'm using a python script to control ffmpeg. Any ideas?

friends, I wish to know more about flac audio encoding in ffmpeg , i am just starting. I see by the documentation : FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) Encoder compression_level Sets the compression level, which chooses defaults for many other options if they are not set explicitly. Valid values are from 0 to 12, 5 is the default. My question is: what should the compression level be for mathematically lossless thank you
