I use ffmpeg on Windows 8.1 x64 - Intel I7 - RAM 16MB to stream to Youtube a captured area of my laptop. I use 480p resolution. The internet connection is WiFi with a router with a 4G SIM card. I experiment this problem: - the bitrate shown by ffmeg starts from about 350kbits/s and grows slowly and constantly until 2,500kbits/s, - while Youtube display in green: GOOD DATA RECEIVED, and then, as the bitrate grows, says in RED that the receiving data is to slow and users could experiment some problems - the resulting Youtube video is ok - the bitrate grows until 2,450 kbits/s and stay for 10-15 minutes - then goes down slowly and continuosly until around 1,500 fps the video becomes gray and only sound is received. At this point I stop and restart ffmpeg, and everything restarts again. ffmpeg support for color encoding conversion?

Hey all, I am looking for an alternate solution to avconv on a Raspberry Pi setup running RetroPie. Have been trying to use it to convert some videos in the color format yuv444p to yuv420p which is needed for a hardware accelerated video playback feature in RetroPie. But avconv will often crash out with Error in `avconv': realloc(): invalid next size Does ffmpeg support Linux and if so does it support such a conversion method?

Create video frame by frame using pipes - Can't get FFmpeg to finish up

Hey. Im trying to build a video frame by frame by passing frames to FFmpeg via a pipe (in this case an anonymous pipe). Operating System: Windows 10 My language is C++. Trying to follow this Python tutorial : http://zulko.github.io/blog/2013/09/27/read-and-write-video-frames-in-pytho… Everything is working as expected, except the closing of the pipe. I would assume that when closing my write end of the pipe, FFmpeg should finish the video and exit. But it doesn't. I first tried using the commandline and receiving from STDIN (just write some crappy values), but can't get the pipe to close properly with EOF (STRG+Z). Typing EOF multiple times finally closes and I get an output video. My target is to achieve this using UnrealEngine. But it can't make FFmpeg finish up. So I wrote my own little program that create gray values for the frames. The result is the same, FFmpeg does not finish up. Everything as should be. But how to tell FFmpeg the pipe is closed, there will not come any more frames.

Broken video in rtmp stream to Wowza using tee pseudo-muxer

Hello everyone, I'm trying to send a rtmp stream to our Wowza streaming server and record that stream at the same time. I've followed the instructions from https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Creating%20multiple%20outputs and https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/EncodingForStreamingSites. I'm experiencing the same problem as another user did before: http://www.ffmpeg-archive.org/rtmp-output-is-black-bitrate-N-A-td4670047.ht… When I just upload the stream without the tee muxer, everything works as expected, but with tee I only get audio but no video. In the Wowza logs I can see errors like this: H264Utils.decodeAVCC : java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException Sounds to me like there's something wrong with the h.264 video. Flash won't play it and the transcoding to HLS in Wowza fails with the errors mentioned above. I've compiled ffmpeg from the latest snapshot to make sure I'm not encountering a bug that has already been fixed. Does anyone know how to solve this problem or at least has some hints on how to debug it? Thanks, Erwin
