Audio Desynchronization When Utilizing Segmentation
by Gabriel Balaich 16 Apr '18

Hey all, I was hoping I could a get a bit of help on a problem I'm having. Here is my code: ffmpeg -y -thread_queue_size 5096 -f dshow -video_size 3440x1440 -rtbufsize 2147.48M -framerate 100 -pixel_format nv12 ^ -itsoffset 00:00:00.015 -i video="Video (00 Pro Capture HDMI 4K+)" -thread_queue_size 5096 -guess_layout_max 0 -f dshow ^ -rtbufsize 2147.48M -i audio="SPDIF/ADAT (1+2) (RME Fireface UC)" -map 0:0,1:0 -map 1:0 -c:v h264_nvenc -preset: llhp ^ -pix_fmt nv12 -b:v 250M -minrate 250M -maxrate 250M -bufsize 250M -b:a 384k -ac 2 -r 100 -async 1 -vsync 1 ^ -max_muxing_queue_size 5096 -segment_time 300 -segment_wrap 9 -f segment C:\Users\djcim\Videos\PC\PC\PC%02d.mp4 My goal is to continuously record without filling up my hard drive keeping the last hour and 30 minutes of footage at all times. I'd like to have the ability to edit a group or even just a single segment without any dependencies. As in be able to drag one or more clips into a video editing program like adobe premiere regardless of how long I have been recording and have everything line up perfectly, including desirable audio to video synchronization.Segmentation seemed perfect for this... but when I drag the segments into a video editing program like Adobe premiere the audio slowly drifts from the video after each break. If I remove segmentation and record one continuous clip this does not seem to be a problem, video and audio stay synchronized. Is there anyway to force the beginning of each segment to pick up exactly where the last one left off? Apologies if any part of my code is redundant, and thank you for any help.

Video scaling, padding and cropping together question
by TPCffmpeg＠mklab.ph.rhul.ac.uk 31 Mar '18

31 Mar '18

I am attempting to down-convert HD video (1280x720 with 16:9 aspect ratio) to 720x576 for use on an old PAL 4x3 display. I found two days of doing this, using, (1) -filter:v scale=iw*min(720/iw\,576/ih):ih*min(720/iw\,576/ih), pad=720:576:(720-iw*min(720/iw\,576/ih))/2:(576-ih*min(720/iw\,576/ih))/2 -target pal-dvd (2) -filter:v 'crop=ih/3*4:ih' -target pal-dvd Method 1 scales and pads to letterbox format, so I get the whole of the original picture width with bars above and below. Method 2 scales and crops, so I get to use the whole 4x3 display screen height (better resolution) but lose the LH & RH picture edges via the cropping. The thing I am trying to achieve is a compromise between these two extremes, eg. a method which gives less cropping at the LH & RH picture edges for the price of a little padding above and below the picture. I'm presuming this (ideally) involves scaling, padding and cropping together in a single filter. Could anyone show how to do this or point me in the right direction? Error when trying to compile FFmpeg with libaom
by Victor Carneiro Fardim 31 Mar '18

When trying to build the latest Git build of FFmpeg with libaom enabled, I'm getting the following error: CC libavcodec/libaomdec.o In file included from ./libavutil/common.h:105:0 , from libavcodec/libaomdec.c:29 : ./config.h:38:0: warning: "ARCH_X86" redefined #define ARCH_X86 1 In file included from /usr/local/include/aom/aom_image.h:38:0 , from /usr/local/include/aom/aom_codec.h:47 , from /usr/local/include/aom/aom_decoder.h:33 , from libavcodec/libaomdec.c:26 : /usr/local/include/aom/aom_config.h:15:0: note: this is the location of the previous definition #define ARCH_X86 0 In file included from ./libavutil/common.h:105:0 , from libavcodec/libaomdec.c:29 : ./config.h:563:0: warning: "CONFIG_PIC" redefined #define CONFIG_PIC 1 In file included from /usr/local/include/aom/aom_image.h:38:0 , from /usr/local/include/aom/aom_codec.h:47 , from /usr/local/include/aom/aom_decoder.h:33 , from libavcodec/libaomdec.c:26 : /usr/local/include/aom/aom_config.h:109:0: note: this is the location of the previous definition #define CONFIG_PIC 0 libavcodec/libaomdec.c: In function ‘ set_pix_fmt ’: libavcodec/libaomdec.c:92:35: error: ‘ struct aom_image ’ has no member named ‘ cp ’; did you mean ‘ cs ’? avctx->color_primaries = img-> cp ; ^~ cs libavcodec/libaomdec.c:93:29: error: ‘ struct aom_image ’ has no member named ‘ mc ’ avctx->colorspace = img -> mc; ^~ libavcodec/libaomdec.c:94:29: error: ‘ struct aom_image ’ has no member named ‘ tc ’ avctx->color_trc = img -> tc; ^~ libavcodec/libaomdec.c: In function ‘ aom_decode ’: libavcodec/libaomdec.c:176:9: error: too few arguments to function ‘ aom_codec_decode ’ if ( aom_codec_decode (&ctx->decoder, avpkt->data, avpkt->size, NULL) != ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In file included from libavcodec/libaomdec.c:26:0 : /usr/local/include/aom/aom_decoder.h:218:17: note: declared here aom_codec_err_t aom_codec_decode (aom_codec_ctx_t *ctx, const uint8_t *data, ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ make: *** [ffbuild/common.mak:60: libavcodec/libaomdec.o] Error 1 My configure/make command looks like this: sudo -H bash -c 'make clean && export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/ && ./configure --enable-gpl --enable-version3 --enable-libopus --enable-libcodec2 --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libx265 --enable-libaom --enable-libfreetype --enable-libvpx --enable-libv4l2 --enable-libx264 --enable-libass --enable-libpulse --enable-libvorbis --enable-libwebp --enable-libtheora && nice make && nice make install && notify-send "FFmpeg build done"' I've built the latest Git build of aom with cmake and default settings. I don't know what's wrong. But from the looks of it, this might be a bug in libavcodec, since the corresponding function in libaom that's throwing the error takes 5 arguments instead of 4. I'd appreciate if somebody could help me with this.

ffnvcodec dependency not satisfied even after including external headers
by Danny Darvish 30 Mar '18

30 Mar '18

Hi, I think configure made a mistake when giving me this error, because the dependency *should* be satisfied: * ERROR: cuda requested, but not all dependencies are satisfied: ffnvcodec* I have downloaded the Nvidia headers from the repository here: * https://git.videolan.org/git/ffmpeg/nv-codec-headers.git <https://git.videolan.org/git/ffmpeg/nv-codec-headers.git>* And run make & make install. Make install puts ffnvcodec.pc in /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/, which is listed when I run: * pkg-config --variable pc_path pkg-config* PKG_CONFIG_PATH was not set by default, but I exported the output of the above command to PKG_CONFIG_PATH. None of this has worked though. I am on macOS. I have attached my config.log file. Thanks, Danny
