"Non-monotonous DTS in output stream" error, previous and current values are equal

I have a number of .ts segments (AES-128 encrypted), .m3u8 chunklist for them and a key to decrypt them. My goal is to losslessly remux these .ts segments into one .mp4 file with no playback issues. I'm using the following command: "ffmpeg -allowed_extensions ALL -i chunklist.m3u8 -c copy output.mp4" but getting a bunch of "Non-monotonous DTS" errors. It results in the output file experiencing a dropped frame every 2-3 seconds during playback according to VLC player's media statistics window. I apologize in advance because the DTS issue was discussed here many times, however, the solutions described in other topics don't seem to be working for me and also, in my case the previous and current values in these errors are equal which is unusual. Maybe it has something to do with the rest of the .ts segments missing, not sure... I noticed the next thing - if I concatenate the .ts files and then remux the big .ts file into .mp4 there are no dropping frames, except in the beginning where I get 2 dropped frames for some reason. FFmpeg doesn't show any DTS errors in this case, however it shows some new ones - "start time for stream 0 is not set in estimate_timings_from_pts" and "pts has no value". The duration of the result .mp4 file is 1 second longer than the .ts one according to the file's properties which is weird. VLC player also detects the frame rate as 30.05 while it should be 29.97 so... I don't think it's a perfect solution. So I have the following questions: 1. Why these DTS errors appear? What exactly is wrong with my .ts files and how to check if my future .ts files have the same problem or not before remuxing with ffmpeg? 2. How to remux these .ts files properly so no "Non-monotonous DTS in output stream" or any other errors appear in ffmpeg and the result .mp4 plays with no issues and as close to the source as possible? 3. Why the "missing picture in access unit with size 8" error appears when I leave only first three .ts files in the chunklist? This error doesn't appear when all .ts files are there. 4. A general question - is there any difference between (a) decrypting all .ts parts separately, then concatenating them into one big .ts file and remuxing it into .mp4 and (b) concatenating all encrypted .ts parts first, then decrypting the big .ts result file and then remuxing it into .mp4? DVD EIA-608 to ASS from stdin with custom style

When extracting EIA-608 captions from a DVD to an ASS file I am unsure how to specify the style. I've seen snippets online about a force_style option but it seems to be about hardcoding them or specifying a subtitle file as input. Since I'm reading from stdin I'm unsure where or how to write the relevant part. Ffmpeg is a Windows codec?

Is their a Windows codec available? I want to play Indeo video 3 files, which FFPlay can do but I want to play it through 'Video for Windows"(Windows NT/10 version). That way I can run an old piece of multimedia software. -- -Jamie Marchant

"Invalid argument" when running ffmpeg.exe with a pipe as video input

I am creating a c# application to record videos H264. The workflow of my application is like this: 1) My application connects to a webcam using DirectShow and presents the frames in the UI; 2) When recording the app starts a FFmpeg process that accepts a video input from a pipe; 3) After that in my app a NamedPipeServerStream is created and the frames are wrote there. Till now, I never had a problem with this method, but yesterday I started having problems in a new computer. The problem seems to be related with the creation of the pipe. Current state of DTS "Master Audio" decoding?

There's a lot of conflicting information out there on this subject. Most of what I've seen indicates that FFmpeg is only able to decode the lossy "core" component of DTS-HD-MA streams. But then there's dcadec[1]. Its README indicates that it is able to decode the lossless master audio streams, and that it has been "fully integrated" into FFmpeg. Can anyone clarify exactly what this means? When decoding DTS-HD-MA audio does FFmpeg automatically decode the lossless stream, or do I have to somehow tell it to do so? How to remove rotation of a video?

Hi, I have a video which is flaged rotated by 90 °, which is wrong. How can I delete this flag, preferably directly in the existing file? CPU and GPU

I'm watching ffmpeg crank out a ProRes from an older format QT at about 3 - 4x real time I'm on a 8-core machine, and it's using all of them + hyper-threading. It's really impressive. Also been converting to mp4 using GPU which is faster still -- mind-blowingly fast. My impression from searching online and from ffmpeg -h encoder=prores_ks that processing through GPU is not an option for ProRes transcoding. Is there something about transcoding to ProRes that makes GPU processing not an option? (and would it even be faster) Or is it possible and I just haven't found it yet?

intel hd4000 h264 encoding with vaapi for quicktime - yuv420p possible?

Hi there, I have an old powerpc mac that can play h264 mp4 files, but they seem to need to be in yuv420p pixel format so as not to get a black screen. I can encode them successfully on my linux laptop with libx264 cpu encoding and -pix_fmt yuv420p option. The cpu is ivybridge, so the gpu can do h264 encode and decode which plays fine in vlc on linux, but not in quicktime on the old imac. My question is: is there a set of options so that the hardware accelerated ffmpeg encoding/decoding/both can output a mp4 file with yuv420p pixel format that is compatible with the quicktime standards? So far, I haven't been able to find one from here: https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Hardware/VAAPI To get hardware encoding to work I seem to need to use this option with the h264_vaapi encoder: -vf 'hwupload,format=nv12' which seems to be causing the problem. I can't specify the same -pix_fmt option as I can with libx264, because it just doesn't work.
