FFmpeg on Apple Silicon (Success)

Hi, Just for information. Today I successfully compiled FFmpeg 4.3.1 for Apple Silicon (macOS 11 Beta Big Sur) on Apple Developer Transition Kit. Also I was able to include FFmpeg shared libraries for my test app. I used basic configure options to make sure that FFmpeg works on arm64: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/Cellar/ffmpeg/4.3.1 --enable-shared --extra-cflags="-fno-stack-check" --enable-gpl --enable-version3 --enable-hardcoded-tables --enable-pthreads --enable-nonfree I discovered only one issue (probably my mistake). dylibs work only when I put them to /usr/local/Cellar/ffmpeg/4.3.1/lib folder If I put dylibs into my APP bundle /Contents/Frameworks these dylibs fail to load, despite the fact that I load dylib using absolute file path from my folder.

Recording audio from mic and speakers from commandline

Hi, I am using ffmpeg version 2.4.7 on Fedora-21 workstation. I want to record audio, simultaneously from mic and speakers as separate streams. I am using the following command for it. ffmpeg -f alsa -i pulse -f alsa -i default -acodec libmp3lame -map 0:0 -map 1:0 outfile.mkv But after executing this command in terminal, I have to goto "Volume Control" settings in GUI, then goto "Recording" tab, change the "capture from" of one channel to "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo" (i.e., Mic) and the "capture from" of another channel to "Monitor of Built-in Audio Analog Stereo" (i.e., Speakers). But how can this be done completely from command-line, for automating it to use in scripts. - Mohan

libaom - first frame not lossless when > 7 frames in source

Hi, I was doing some tests with libaom and lossness encoding and with synthetic files and some real world files, I kept finding that the framemd5s for the first frame was different than the source, but every other libaom encoded frame produced matching framemd5s for source and output. I then tried with smaller frame counts, and with synthetic files, I found that all frames would produce matching framemd5s when there was between 1 and 7 frames in the input. Once you went to 8 frames and above, the first frame would produce a framemd5 mismatch. here's a bunch of commands using ffmpeg git-master and what I assume to be libaom git master, or whatever the Ubuntu ffmpeg compilation wiki is using: 0) framemd5 output of the 8fr source - note the first frame value 1) Make a 8frame v210 via testsrc 2) Turn into av1 with -crf 0 3) get framemd5 of av1 output - note that first framemd5 value is different 4-6 - same as 1 to 3 but with a 7 frame testsrc file Any idea what's happening? Audio out of sync after many Non-monotonous DTS in output stream warning

when I transcoding some live stream that comes from DVB, I got many warnings bellow and after a few hours, the audio out of sync. [tee @ 0x2998780] Non-monotonous DTS in output stream 0:0; previous: 27931, current: 27929; changing to 27932. This may result in incorrect timestamps in the output file. RTMP issue

My question is an issue with a program written to live stream to YouTube working is all modes other than rtmp live stream. The program writes FLV container (H.264 and AAC streams) to FFMPEG standard URL. The IO context is opened with “avio_open(&io_ctx, url, AVIO_FLAG_WRITE);”. When written to file: it plays in VLC media player, the file is uploadable to YouTube and FLVCheck tool shows the file conforms to the FLV specification. But when the URL is rtmp: the stream to YouTube shows connected but never plays live and after if finishes the stream is never processed by YouTube. When the stream is piped (pipe:1 URL) thru FFMPEG (demuxed and muxed only -- ffmpeg -i - -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f flv rtmp:<URL>) the live stream works without issues. So, I need to understand what FFMPEG command line is doing with rtmp: URL that I am not doing with the FFMPEG API. My source code is at github.com/wkeeling63/rcam. 'showspectrumpic' filter: scaling of the frequency axis and fft windows size

Today, I have been experimenting with the 'showspectrum' filter, mostly with 'showspectrumpic'. I think there is a bug in the log scaling of the frequency axis if (and only if) it doesn't start at zero: The ratios of the frequency axis' labelings is not constant, they grow with larger values. I had a quick look at the source code and gained the impression that the fft windows size is based on the height of video created (?). At least it cannot by specified in the filter options. Yadif_cuda and Pix_fmt

I'm trying to use yadif_cuda during a transcode along with converting from 8bit to 10bit. The process errors out: Impossible to convert between the formats supported by the filter 'Parsed_yadif_cuda_0' and the filter 'auto_scaler_0' Error reinitializing filters! Failed to inject frame into filter network: Function not implemented Error while processing the decoded data for stream #0:0 If I don't set the pix_fmt then the transcode works without issue. I'm trying to understand why I am getting that failure. It would seem to be that the yadif_cuda filter would take the input stream, perform the deinterlacing then the hevc_nvenc encoder should accept pix_fmt p010le. What am I missing here.

? About ffmpeg's prores implemention

’ve got a question about the Prores implementation in ffmpeg because I’ve seen some odd behavior here with FCPX (running on a very beefy 16-core Mac Pro with 192Gram and an Afterburner card). When I output files from ffmpeg in ProresLT format and bring them into FCPX, they stutter badly… playback is ~5fps. But when I transcode/optimize them in FCPX, which creates Prores422 versions of those files, they play back in FCPX seamlessly. The ffmpeg files _used_ to play back seamlessly on this machine when I was doing this Jan-March, but I haven’t been using this workflow since March. My questions are: 1. Is the Prores implementation in ffmpeg a 100% accurate implementation as per the Apple spec? 2. Has anything changed in the Prores code transcoding of ffmpeg in the lat 4 months? Thanks! -g
