Input Buffer ovverun with Decklink 8K Pro and Nvenc
by jroch 06 Aug '20

06 Aug '20

Hi I'm trying to encode a live 8K footage from a decklink 8k p ro card using nvenc hevc codec but i get Decklink input buffer overrun! always. I have tested outputting to -f null /dev/null but i get the same I tried with the -thread_queue_size option too without luck. My 2 pci ports are 16X each on a 32 lines pci express 3.0 mother board. My test command : ffmpeg -thread_queue_size 5096 -f decklink -r 30000/1001 -rtbufsize 200M -i 'SDI1' -vsync 1 -c:a aac -b:a 128k -c:v hevc_nvenc -b:v 50M -preset fast -profile main -level auto -f null /dev/null Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this ? -- Sent from: http://www.ffmpeg-archive.org/

SBC codec supported?
by Hector Urroz 06 Aug '20

06 Aug '20

Is the bluetooth SBC codec supported in ffmpeg? I see references to it in ffmpeg.org, for example: https://www.ffmpeg.org/doxygen/4.1/sbc_8c_source.html But the codec doesn't show up when I run "ffmpeg -codecs" Thanks, Hector

Wrong display aspect ratio output
by Gian Maria Allibrante 05 Aug '20

05 Aug '20

Hello,by encoding different inputs with the line below, the display aspect ratio of the output is wrong when the input has not the same proportional relationship, also the logo that the command adds seems to effected by the gap between input width/height relationship and output one. How to get an output that respest the input proportion, since the "cinema scope" could change, but keep 1080*1920 output resolution? eg: to eep the original "cinema scope" instead stretch height like now. ffmpeg -f concat -safe 0 -y -i list.txt -loop 1 -i ../logo/logo.png -c:a copy -c:v libx264 -x264opts keyint=$GOP:min-keyint=$GOP:no-scenecut -bf 0 -r $FPSC -b:v 4800k -maxrate 9600k -bufsize 19200k -profile:v main -crf 22 -filter_complex "[0:v][1:v]overlay=main_w-overlay_w-10:10,scale=1920:1080,setsar=1" -t $TOTDUR 1080set.mp4 Please if you need any other infos just say, thank you!

How can I get a duration and fps of any video that corresponds with the number of frames that can be read?
by Tom Burrows 05 Aug '20

05 Aug '20

I'm a developer of the Python MoviePy package and I'm trying to rework how we import file information to be more robust. I need to get the duration of any video file such that when multiplied with the media's fps value (in this case, either ’tbr’ or ‘fps'), it equals the number of frames in the video. I've found 3 solutions: (1) ffmpeg -i broken_video.mp4 (2) ffmpeg -i broken_video.mp4 -f null - (3) ffmpeg -i broken_video.mp4 -codec copy -f null - (Full outputs at the end) FFmpeg reports that the video has 29.90 fps, 30 tbr, and contains 305 frames. They all list Duration: 00:00:10.26 near the top. I believe that this is derived from the metadata and has proved to be unreliable, so I'd rather avoid using this. In this case, 10.26x30=307.8 (2) has time=00:00:10.21 near the bottom. 10.21x30=306.3. Also, this one is a lot slower since it is re-encoding the entire file. (3) has time=00:00:10.19 10.19x30=305.7. This is the closest to 305, although it still rounds incorrectly. I've also considered simply taking the fps and the number of frames and generating the duration from this (in this case, 30x305= 10.16667), but I’m assuming that sometimes the fps is wrong? (occasionally the tbr is something crazy like 10k and that would surely create an incorrect duration. Maybe this behaviour wouldn’t happen with ‘fps’?). Is there a better solution to this problem? ————— $ ffmpeg -i broken_video.mp4 ffmpeg version 4.2.2 Copyright (c) 2000-2019 the FFmpeg developers built with Apple clang version 11.0.0 (clang-1100.0.33.17) configuration: --prefix=/usr/local/Cellar/ffmpeg/4.2.2_2 --enable-shared --enable-pthreads --enable-version3 --enable-avresample --cc=clang --host-cflags= --host-ldflags= --enable-ffplay --enable-gnutls --enable-gpl --enable-libaom --enable-libbluray --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libopus --enable-librubberband --enable-libsnappy --enable-libtesseract --enable-libtheora --enable-libvidstab --enable-libvorbis --enable-libvpx --enable-libwebp --enable-libx264 --enable-libx265 --enable-libxvid --enable-lzma --enable-libfontconfig --enable-libfreetype --enable-frei0r --enable-libass --enable-libopencore-amrnb --enable-libopencore-amrwb --enable-libopenjpeg --enable-librtmp --enable-libspeex --enable-libsoxr --enable-videotoolbox --disable-libjack --disable-indev=jack libavutil 56. 31.100 / 56. 31.100 libavcodec 58. 54.100 / 58. 54.100 libavformat 58. 29.100 / 58. 29.100 libavdevice 58. 8.100 / 58. 8.100 libavfilter 7. 57.100 / 7. 57.100 libavresample 4. 0. 0 / 4. 0. 0 libswscale 5. 5.100 / 5. 5.100 libswresample 3. 5.100 / 3. 5.100 libpostproc 55. 5.100 / 55. 5.100 Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from 'broken_video.mp4': Metadata: minor_version : 512 major_brand : isom compatible_brands: isomiso2avc1mp41 information : {"com.bytedance.info": "{}"} comment : vid:v0200f970000brb4glubn5v3g13q5db0 encoder : Lavf58.20.100 Duration: 00:00:10.26, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 743 kb/s Stream #0:0(und): Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0x31637661), yuv420p(tv, smpte170m/bt470bg/smpte170m), 576x1024 [SAR 1:1 DAR 9:16], 608 kb/s, 29.90 fps, 30 tbr, 15360 tbn, 60 tbc (default) Metadata: handler_name : VideoHandler Stream #0:1(und): Audio: aac (LC) (mp4a / 0x6134706D), 44100 Hz, stereo, fltp, 127 kb/s (default) Metadata: handler_name : SoundHandler At least one output file must be specified ———— $ ffmpeg -i broken_video.mp4 -f null - Impossible to get the bit depth value of an audio-file with ffprobe
by scrutinizer 05 Aug '20

05 Aug '20

Hello, This is, in effect, relates to the similar topic raised in January 2018 no this forum (“Sample types 's32 (24 bit)' and 's16 (24 bit)' are confusing to me”). In it, the user was given a very contradicting response to the concern that ff-utilities couldn’t discern between 32 and 16-bit on one side and 24-bit on the other, talking about RAW audio whose source was digitized analogue audio. THe responder claimed that it was both a bug and intended behaviour and not a bug which looks confusing at the very least. I faced the same issue today with regard to non-RAW audio made from the 32bit RAW source. I know that the bit depth is 24bit. MediaInfo displays the same value, despite that ffprobe lists the downscaled file as s32p as the value of the sample_fmt subentry of the stream entry. I need a precise bit depth and sample rate value, but so far I was only able to get the sample rate one. I wonder where should I look up for the bit depth parameter in the same way that MediaInfo does to retrieve the correct value? macOS Mojave ffprobe version info [PROGRAM_VERSION] version=N-98600-gbe3c10d copyright=Copyright (c) 2007-2020 the FFmpeg developers compiler_ident=Apple LLVM version 10.0.1 (clang-1001.0.46.4) [/PROGRAM_VERSION] Regards, ~~

Combining 2 video/audio webm files into 1 video using timestamps
by Randy Johnson 04 Aug '20

04 Aug '20

Hello Everyone, My Goal: I need to take 2 to 4 single channel webm files (video/audio) and combine them into 1 video with audio. Think a zoom meeting with 4 people on the video call each feed being recorded separately and then I need to combine them after the meeting. What I have so far: I have used this project: https://github.com/opentok/archiving-composer to get started. This works in that it combines both videos using the timestamps provided into 1 video. The problem is it doesn't combine / merge both video file's audio tracks in the final generated video. Only 1 of the video's audio track makes it to the end video. Specifically the first video's audio. Here are the ffmpeg commands generated by the above: ``` ffmpeg -y -threads 8 -loglevel info -ss 71.257 -t 1.959 -i /Users/randy/Downloads/archive23/a920ab58-a42d-49fe-a239-b27497b22bb1.webm -filter_complex "[0]scale=640:-1[b];[b]drawtext=fontsize=30:fontcolor=white:fontfile=/Library/Fonts/Tahoma.ttf:text='USER_ID=113,USER_NAME=Randy Mod,USER_TYPE=moderator,TIMESLOT_END=':x=w/2-text_w/2:y=h-line_h-5" -shortest temp-71257-73216.mp4 ffmpeg -y -threads 8 -loglevel quiet -ss 16.16 -t 55.097 -i /Users/randy/Downloads/archive23/a920ab58-a42d-49fe-a239-b27497b22bb1.webm -ss 0 -t 71.257 -i /Users/randy/Downloads/archive23/823ef68a-cb1c-4636-bdfb-ed3d9611a755.webm -filter_complex "[0]scale=320:-1,pad=2*iw:2*ih:0:120;[1]scale=320:-1;overlay=main_w/2:120,scale=640:480,drawtext=fontsize=30:fontcolor=white:fontfile=/Library/Fonts/Tahoma.ttf:text='USER_ID=113,USER_NAME=Randy Mod,USER_TYPE=moderator,TIMESLOT_END=':x=w/4-text_w/2:y=3*h/4-line_h-5,drawtext=fontsize=30:fontcolor=white:fontfile=/Library/Fonts/Tahoma.ttf:text='USER_ID=173,USER_NAME=Part icipant,USER_TYPE=participant,TIMESLOT_END=':x=3*w/4-text_w/2:y=3*h/4-line_h-5" -shortest temp-16160-71257.mp4 ffmpeg -y -threads 8 -loglevel quiet -ss 71.257 -t 1.959 -i /Users/randy/Downloads/archive23/a920ab58-a42d-49fe-a239-b27497b22bb1.webm -filter_complex "[0]scale=640:-1[b];[b]drawtext=fontsize=30:fontcolor=white:fontfile=/Library/Fonts/Tahoma.ttf:text='USER_ID=113,USER_NAME=Randy Mod,USER_TYPE=moderator,TIMESLOT_END=':x=w/2-text_w/2:y=h-line_h-5" -shortest temp-71257-73216.mp4 ffmpeg -y -threads 8 -loglevel quiet -f concat -i 6cde2f22-5fcc-4227-ae9f-24af806af2d5-list.txt -r 24 6cde2f22-5fcc-4227-ae9f-24af806af2d5.mp4 ``` I then went out and researched and came up with the following code. This combines both videos and audio but totally ignores the timestamps. So both videos play at once and the audio plays as well. ``` ffmpeg -i /Users/randy/Downloads/archive23/a920ab58-a42d-49fe-a239-b27497b22bb1.mp4 -i /Users/randy/Downloads/archive23/823ef68a-cb1c-4636-bdfb-ed3d9611a755.mp4 -filter_complex \ "[0:v][1:v]hstack=inputs=2[v]; \ [0:a][1:a]amerge[a]" \ -map "[v]" -map "[a]" -ac 2 -y /Users/randy/Downloads/archive23/output.mp4 ``` My Issue: I am not sure how to combine the merging of the audio of my second example with the code of the first example that puts the video in the timestamp order. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Randy

Compilation of shared libraries for macOS
by Екатерина 03 Aug '20

03 Aug '20

Hi, I have a problem with compilation of shared libraries on macOS Catalina to include FFmpeg 4.3.1 dylibs for my app video for a simple video playback: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/Cellar/ffmpeg/4.3.1 --enable-shared --enable-pthreads --enable-hardcoded-tables --enable-avcodec --enable-avformat --enable-avresample --enable-postproc I compile successfully all dylibs. But my app crashes when I try to open any video file: * Symbol not found: _av_rescale_q_rnd Referenced from: /Users/USER/*/TestPlayer.app/Contents/Frameworks/LibAV/libavformat.58.dylib Expected in: /usr/local/lib/libavcodec.58.dylib* With another configuration: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/Cellar/ffmpeg/4.3.1 --enable-shared --enable-pthreads --enable-version3 --enable-hardcoded-tables --enable-avresample --cc=clang --host-cflags= --host-ldflags= My app doesn't crash, but it fails on avformat_open_input() - “EXC_I386_GPFLT” What am I doing wrong? With Zeranoe's dylibs everything works fine. I would be grateful for any advice.
