Hello!
I'm using ffmpeg to convert an uncompessed avi into a mpeg1 with following statement
c:\> ffmpeg -i Spot_SCG_2004.avi -r 25 -b 500 -s 320x240 -vcodec mpeg1video -g 48 -ac 1 -ab 64 -ar 32000 preview.mpeg FFmpeg version SVN-r6618, Copyright (c) 2000-2006 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --enable-memalign-hack --enable-mingw32 --enable-mp3lame --ena ble-libogg --enable-vorbis --extra-cflags=-I/include --extra-ldflags=-L/lib libavutil version: 49.0.1 libavcodec version: 51.16.0 libavformat version: 50.5.0 built on Oct 10 2006 09:36:47, gcc: 3.4.2 (mingw-special) Input #0, avi, from 'Spot_SCG_2004.avi': Duration: 00:00:16.2, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 14750 kb/s Stream #0.0: Video: rawvideo, rgb565, 320x240, 12.00 fps(r) Output #0, mpeg, to 'preview.mpeg': Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg1video, yuv420p, 320x240, q=2-31, 0 kb/s, 25.00 fps(c)
.............................................................^^^^^^^^ The interpretation of bitrates has recently changed. Try "-b 500k -ab 64k". And I would not recommend such a large GOP size with MPEG1. 12 for PAL and 15 for NTSC are the more usual choices.
Stream mapping: Stream #0.0 -> #0.0 frame= 404 q=31.0 Lsize= 978kB time=16.1 bitrate= 497.0kbits/s video:317kB audio:0kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead 208.191697%
But in the end the result isn't opportune. The whole movie is very green and you can hardly see anything.
i have uploaded the two files origin and result packed:
origin: http://www.werk3at.net/blk/ffmpeg/Spot_SCG_2004.rar (2,8 MB) result: http://www.werk3at.net/blk/ffmpeg/preview.rar (800 KB)
Not everyone has installed rar. Packing is generally useless on multimedia files, but you have some rawvideo, so use zip.
thanks in advance for your help
greets Richard
