Hi there, since dyas i am trying to figure out, what the right cmdline options are, i searched the web, tried various settings, but with no success... I used mencoder to render avis - but since i use vlc and thus ffmpeg, there has to be a solution. my previous mencoder setting - still working but with 1 audio track: audio: 'mencoder "'.$PARSEFILE.'" -ovc frameno -o frameno.avi -oac mp3lame -lameopts br=128:cbr:mode=3 -af resample=48000:0:2 -srate 48000'; 1 pass: 'mencoder "'.$PARSEFILE.'" -oac copy -vf pp=lb -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:v4mv:mbd=2:trell:cmp=3:subcmp=3:mbcmp=3:autoaspect:vbitrate=1000:vpass=1:threads=2 -o "'.$out 2 pass mencoder "'.$PARSEFILE.'" -oac copy -vf pp=lb -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:v4mv:mbd=2:trell:cmp=3:subcmp=3:mbcmp=3:autoaspect:vbitrate=1000:vpass=2:threads=2 -o "'.$out works plus qaulity is for tv okay.... can anybody help me translate that into ffmpeg lingo? i am using linux and only linux.... my first start was : 1 pass: "ffmpeg -v 2 -y -i $PARSEFILE -b 1200k -bt 4000k -vcodec mpeg4 -pass 1 -an $WRITEFILE.avi"; 2 pass "ffmpeg -v 2 -y -i $PARSEFILE -b 1200k -bt 4000k -vcodec mpeg4 -pass 2 -acodec libmp3lame -ac 2 -ar 48000 -ab 128k $WRITEFILE.avi"; but that didnt work - filsizewise I dont want to do h264 encoding. That works but a) is slow as grandma (which is nothing bad) b) filesize is not satisfying c) decoding cost cpu and doesnt work with vlc (dont ask here - ista fact).. so does anybody have a suitable 2 pass ffmpeg string? Thanks in advance NJ
