I'm actually trying to encode wmv videos to flv format. The sound is delayed by about 2 or 3 seconds (sound in advance of three seconds on start, and no sound at the end).

have you tried -async option ?

ffmpeg -i myfile.avi -y -async 1 -r 15 -s 320x240 -ar 22050 -acodec libmp3lame -ab 32000 -ac 1 -bt 64000 -vcodec flv -b 400000 myoutput.flv => Audio is synced, but the first 3 seconds have problems : no sound, then sound for 100ms, then no sound ... and 3 seconds later (approximately), everything is ok and synchronized.
