Obviously make test doesn't run without failing, it runs for a while and stops with: /data/ffmpeg/tests/regression.sh: line 668: 21560 Segmentation fault $ffmpeg -y -bitexact -dct_algo 1 -idct_algo 2 $* -f crc $datadir/ffmpeg.crc

read bugreports.html telling us that theres a segfault without gdb output and without the gcc version which was used in that specific case is only a waste of time, no matter h I send the mail to ffmpeg-user, not the dev list. I hoped another user would recognize things and would be able to give me a hint. I didn't mention, it would be a bug, I thought that I was doing something stupid.
btw, run 'make disclean' when switching from one gcc version to another I know
[...] I would love to give the information needed to help. I removed everything related to ffmpeg, as far as I know, did a make distclean, did a ./configure without any options, make, make test. I use kernel stock 2.6.9 kernel with bk2 patch, on a mdk 10.1 system. gcc = version 3.4.1-4mdk
Installed gdb. r /usr/bin/make test got: ffmpeg version 0.4.9-pre1, build 4753, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard configuration: built on Apr 29 2005 14:22:50, gcc: 3.4.1 (Mandrakelinux 10.1 3.4.1-4mdk) ../ffmpeg_g -y -bitexact -dct_algo 1 -idct_algo 2 -i ./data/b-libav.nut -f crc ./data/ffmpeg.crc /data/FFMpeg-20050428/tests/regression.sh: line 668: 13292 Segmentation fault $ffmpeg -y -bitexact -dct_algo 1 -idct_algo 2 $* -f crc $datadir/ffmpeg.crc

Program exited with code 02. (gdb) bt No stack. (gdb) disass $ps-32 $pc+32 No registers In gdb What could I do to provide better info ? Kind regards Henk Schoneveld (user< a dumb one>)
