Hello, I am trying to get ffmpeg to work on my Apache-server (which I know practically nothing about). I'm trying to get ffmpeg to extract a frame, and save it as a jpeg. Converting video/audio with ffmpeg works, but the extraction of the frame just won't. My guess is that I need the latest CVS, but that is the problem. I don't know how to get the cvs over the existing ffmpeg. I've tried to find information on how to do it, but I don't understand what I need to do. Can someone please please please help me do/walk me through it. I've been trying for days now and I've no more hair to pull. Best regards, Gavin

what distro is your apache server using.?? i have never used apache for something like this but if its the same as when you ssh into the server then remove it using your package managment system. if not then you can always install ffmpeg into someother directory example. ./configure --prefix=$HOME/ffmpeg_install make make install then you'll have to runn ffmpeg $HOME/ffmpeg_install/bin/ffmpeg <whater ever commands you enter>
