Using 24-bit integer audio codec
Hi gurus Is't possible to use 24-bit integer audio codec by ffmpeg ? I need to transcode MPEG2 video to DV format and because we are using it in FinalCut, audio need to be this 24-bit integer. Otherwise FinalCut need reneder it. Thanks for any help -Jussi _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Did you find a soluce? 1- are you sure that FCP need a 24-bit audio? (or 2 16-bit audios?) to avoid to re-render the stream (I didn't find any specification about a dv with 24-bit) 2- I tried to convert to dv with audio 24-bit => failure the only audio that ffmpeg accepts is 16-bit :-( 3- I tried to convert with 2 audios streams => ffmpeg only accepts with the dvcpro50 format (and always with the 2 audio in 16-bit) PS: I don't want a dvcpro, just dv ;-) ... if you have soluces, other test, or anything else, I will be glad to know them thanks Herv? ???`???,??,???`???,??,???`???,??,???`???,??,???`??? Regardless of what FCP things -- there is *NO* such thing as DV (at least at 25Mbps) with 24bit audio. Most likely FCP required DV to be packaged in a secondary container format (MOV or AVI) and have an audio track at that format level be a 24bit PCM. Which is not only a bad idea but would require only FCP or its derivatives to be used when exporting such streams to hardware devices. Thanks, Roman.
[...] oops, sorry for the previous mail to the ffmpeg-list My mail was for the personn who wrote the topic (it's a bad 'reply to' in my mail client) sorry bye - good continuation Herv?
