Hello, I tried to convert a Webm file to MP4. The output MP4 file is fine, plays normally at the start. But for some reason, in the middle it goes into "slow-motion". It then speeds back up to normal speed at the end. The screenshot below is when I view the output MP4 in QuickTime. At the bottom, you can see a "frame bar" (not sure what it's officially called). The middle part is the part where it slows down. [image: Inline image 1] Command I used to convert: ./ffmpeg -i inputWebm out.mp4 The input video is here <https://drive.google.com/file/d/13zvEciv1Rq6aI-5LSt-9Fg-p2XC2rMOQ/view?usp=sharing>. The output is here <https://t.yesware.com/ta/fcc4dc28c3803f84e9fb06bb6730ebb57f2ea738/6c27f7a69a8bb8935ffe348f6d687c23/40629b4359c106c7424a7a7b899ab4a9?n=here&yta=https%3A%2F%2Fdrive.google.com%2Ffile%2Fd%2F1yymtHkUc2GcIBj2Fcboysird8YmppKWb%2Fview%3Fusp%3Dsharing> . Does anyone know why the output video slows down in the middle? Because when I view the input file, the "slow down in middle" issue does not happen. Thanks! Henry

./ffmpeg -i inputWebm out.mp4
(Complete, uncut console output missing!) You have to set an output framerate with -r 30 Carl Eugen
Hey guys, sorry I am not a full member of the ffmpeg alias group yet. Do I have to be a member to receive responses? Just curious because it looks like there is some interest in this thread. Thanks! On Tue, Feb 6, 2018 at 4:19 PM, Henry Lau <confiscate@gmail.com> wrote:

no idea what you mean with "a full member" either you subscribed properly to a mailing-list or not

Users that are not subscribed do not receive any messages, including replies. However, you can still reply via the archives: <https://ffmpeg.org/mailing-list-faq.html#Where-are-the-archives_003f-1> Users that are subscribed receive *all* messages on the mailing list, including replies.

do you tell us that unsubscribed people can post at all instead get a reject? what a mess... explains the question - if you want to post subscribe and you get answers, if your are not subscribed you can't post and so answers are no question - it is really that simple all over the world but not at ffmpeg which is also special in many other aspects (use a random snapshot, releases are not supported, build-otpions are not supported, reproduceable build-sripts are not supported... we are our own world living in snaphsot and shell input/output) wtf - even basic mailing lists are special in 2018

Anybody can post to the mailing list with or without being subscribed: all they have to do is email ffmpeg-user@ffmpeg.org. Non-subscribed users must wait for their messages to be manually approved.

crazy idea - as you can see they don't get responses how cool it is asking questions when everybody but you get answers...

They can see replies (and reply to the replies) via the archives. Some users want the ability to post without subscribing. It is not a perfect system, and the instructions could use some more improvements, but it is ultimately the user's responsibility to learn how to use it just like any other tool. Mailing lists are not for everyone, but there are many other help resources out there, both official and unofficial, as an alternative means of getting help. This conversation is getting off-topic.
