I don't quite find myself able to parse what you mean by "suppled" here.
I can sort-of glark the meaning from context, but I've never that I
recall run across "supple" as a verb before...

On the mailing lists and for discussion, it does not bother me
significantly, and as you say it helps provide personality. In
documentation and other long-term-record text such as commit messages,
however, it can at least somewhat get in the way.
