Now, would you be kind enough to explain which is the procedure to
follow for making backports?

Also note that I pinged the patch more than one time, asking
explicitely for you, since nobody standed forward then I went on with
the commit and yes maybe I'm faulty for this.

As for me, I really don't care so much about backports, but I wasn't
feeling comfortable with keeping outright wrong documentation in an
official release.
