I'll admit I somewhat "smuggled" that in because in addition to avoiding
the ifdef it meant FATE would test the new code.
Of course it would obviously be better if a few FATE configurations used
--enable-hardcoded-tables, but it was still useful to discover some
issues. Sorry that you had extra work because of my horrible Makefile
skills :-)
