[00:14] <brimestone> hey guys im geeting a wacky error: [mp @ 0x105404d20] This is a unholy filter, it will be purified by the ffmpeg exorcist team
[00:29] <saste> brimestone: it's not an error, it's a warning, and your ffmpeg version is old
[00:57] <brimestone> oh?
[00:57] <brimestone> so nothing on my argument that causes it
[01:07] <brimestone> http://pastebin.com/FXzNhbMF
[01:15] <llogan> carefully read the statement from fflogger
[01:16] Action: llogan gives fflogger a bot-biscuit
[01:18] <relaxed> "an unholy"
[01:19] <saste> i miss that message...
[01:19] <brimestone> and "exorcist team"
[01:20] <llogan> i name saste "Grand Inquisitor".
[01:22] <llogan> i sucessfully deleted adobe suite from work computer *before* getting the new version discs. duh.
[01:25] <saste> llogan: Holy Exorcist Priest sounds better
[01:25] <saste> we're fighting demons after all, not witches/heretics
[01:25] <saste> much better job
[02:07] <brimestone> how can i read timecode from a quicktime file?
[02:11] <elimirks> Hey guys
[02:11] <elimirks> I was wondering if there is a way to change the pitch of an audio file
[02:57] <llogan> elimirks: try sox. i don't think ffmpeg has a filter that can change pitch, but i may be wrong
[02:57] <elimirks> ok, thanks
[03:00] <llogan> elimirks: or audacity if you want a gui
[03:03] <elimirks> Na, sox is greate
[03:04] <elimirks> and it can generate synths too :)
[04:48] <phunyguy> any word on support for DTS-HD/MA lossless decoding in ffmpeg?
[05:25] <phunyguy> can anyone help me with understanding interlacing/telecine/etc, I have an MPEG2 stream in MKV container (DVD from my collection), and the movie is 23.976 FPS normally, but mediainfo shows the video as 29.97 FPS and Top Field First interlaced.
[05:25] <phunyguy> if I load it up in HandBrake, and it shows as 23.976. Is there some component somewhere that I am missing?
[05:30] <phunyguy> If I am reading this right, the video is "soft telecined"? Meaning it is stored as progressive with flags added to telecine for interlaced TVs?
[06:03] <Phy> Greetings.
[06:04] <Phy> ffmpeg can capture X11 displays, but I was wondering if I could turn that capture into a stream?
[06:04] <Phy> With piping and all of that.
[06:06] <Phy> I'm still new with ffmpeg so I really can't figure out how to do certain things.
[14:41] <ayaka> can I use ffmpeg to join two films together ? if can, how to?
[15:00] <saste> ayaka: read the FAQ - how to join two files
[15:01] <ayaka> saste, sorry and thank you
[15:02] <ayaka> I don't know this english word "concatenate" before
[15:05] <ayaka> but I must convert films to mpg?
[15:24] <Phy> saste: I read that ffmpeg can capture X11 displays -- do you think it's possible to do some trickery to have the footage stream live to a site like ustream?
[15:25] <saste> Phy: why me?
[15:25] <Phy> I ask if you -think- it's possible.
[15:27] <Phy> And why you? Usually people with ops are a bit brighter then the rest of us.
[15:27] <Phy> s/then/than/
[15:28] <saste> Phy: addressing a single user is a bit rude, unless you have a specific reason for that
[15:28] <saste> it is like calling a person by phone
[15:28] <saste> anyway there is nothing special about x11, you grab like you do from a file and you can do whatever you want with it
[15:33] <Phy> Okay then. Thank you.
[17:14] <Phy> saste: WHO ARE YOU LOOKIN FOR? I CALL THE POLICE. THE POLICE. I CALL THE POLICE. THE POLICE ARE GONNA PUT IN THE YAOL.
[17:15] <saste> Internet is full of neurotics
[18:00] <phalaris> hi
[18:03] <phalaris> i downloaded the ffmpeg files from this website here (http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/) and expected that i will have to install them
[18:03] <phalaris> but no install is needed, am i right?
[18:04] <phalaris> i need ffmpeg for exporting videos out of reaper (a DAW program)
[18:04] <saste> phalaris: i believe it is a static build of ffmpeg, so you just run it from the install directory
[18:05] <phalaris> okey
[18:05] <phalaris> on reapers website it's said that i need the following files:
[18:05] <phalaris> avcodec-52.dll
[18:05] <phalaris> avformat-52.dll
[18:05] <phalaris> avutil-50.dll
[18:05] <phalaris> swscale-0.dll
[18:06] <phalaris> the problem is: i don't find any of them in the downloaded folder
[18:14] <saste> phalaris: you downloaded the static version, right?
[18:14] <phalaris> mhm
[18:14] <saste> because if you want the DLL you need the "shared" version, with the DLLs
[18:14] <phalaris> http://wiki.cockos.com/wiki/index.php/Video_Support
[18:15] <phalaris> now i also have the dlls
[18:15] <phalaris> i downloaded them here: http://aegiscorp.free.fr/ffmpeg/
[18:15] <saste> ok
[18:15] <phalaris> but i just have avcodec-54.dll
[18:15] <phalaris> is that ok?
[18:15] <saste> keep in mind those are *old* versions
[18:15] <phalaris> or no, i don't just have this one
[18:16] <phalaris> but i don't have -52-versions
[18:16] <phalaris> so it should be no problem?
[18:16] <saste> the DLL version *is* important
[18:16] <saste> a program which works with -52 won't usually work with -54
[18:17] <saste> the ending number matters
[18:18] <phalaris> so what should i do?
[18:19] <phalaris> ah problem solved, i didn't restart
[18:19] <darkstarbyte> refreshed some dlls?
[18:20] <phalaris> excuse me pls
[18:20] <darkstarbyte> dll files, why what did you think?
[18:20] <darkstarbyte> (No sarcasm.)
[18:20] <phalaris> no, i restarted reaper =)
[18:21] <darkstarbyte> I have always just wondered, what is the point of dll files anyways.
[18:22] <phalaris> now i have a new problem, i just exports a green file
[18:22] <phalaris> is someone here who knows reaper?
[18:22] <darkstarbyte> hopefully not, or they are about to die.
[18:22] <phalaris> if no, then i won't disturb you any more
[18:23] <darkstarbyte> (Soul Reaper!)
[18:24] <phalaris> darkstarbyte: i mean the program :P
[18:24] <darkstarbyte> I know.
[18:24] <phalaris> a okey^^
[18:24] <phalaris> ups
[18:24] <phalaris> so you could help me?
[18:24] <darkstarbyte> maybe, hold on while i do some bug report research.
[18:25] <darkstarbyte> try a different format maybe?
[18:25] <phalaris> yep, i'm doing while you write this bug report
[18:26] <darkstarbyte> Not me, I am just looking.
[18:27] <darkstarbyte> I might be able to help you make one though.
[18:28] <darkstarbyte> I just need to find a random video with no copyright
[18:29] <phalaris> no wait, i think i got it
[18:29] <phalaris> with avi (video codec Xvid and audio codec AAC it works)
[18:29] <darkstarbyte> It seems that green would be some sort of architecture thing.
[18:30] <darkstarbyte> It says to use valgrind and gdb
[18:32] <darkstarbyte> That was for a crash
[18:32] <phalaris> ^^
[18:32] <darkstarbyte> hmm
[18:32] <phalaris> hmm, no aac doesn't work neighter, but 24 bit PCM, i'm sure =)
[18:33] <darkstarbyte> You must be getting really unlucky for so much not be working.
[18:35] <darkstarbyte> try updating reaper.
[18:36] <darkstarbyte> In any case I really liked the hd ffmpeg logo over this one.
[18:37] <phalaris> darkstarbyte: i downloaded reaper this afternoon
[18:37] <darkstarbyte> Maybe an older version.
[18:38] <phalaris> i think it's just my ncompetence^^
[18:38] <phalaris> incompetence*
[18:39] <phalaris> look, it worked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_iV8ISWU2E&feature=youtu.be
[18:39] <darkstarbyte> Yay, I am view one.
[18:39] <phalaris> ^^
[18:39] <phalaris> i don't think it will get more than 10 views xD
[18:40] <phalaris> the photo is the best part of the video :P
[18:41] <phalaris> afk for a few minutes
[18:44] <phalaris> and abck
[18:44] <phalaris> back*
[18:52] <phalaris> i'm away
[18:52] <phalaris> bb
[22:30] <estevex811> hi everyone
[22:35] <estevex811> i built ffmpeg for android and now an error appeared and im kinda in need of help
[22:35] <estevex811> i tried to use avio_open() to connect to a rtsp server
[22:35] <estevex811> but gives error
[22:35] <estevex811> -13...
[22:35] <estevex811> the rstp server is running
[22:36] <estevex811> i used ./configure with --enable-muxers, --enable-protocols, --enable-parsers
[22:36] <estevex811> and i have android internet permissions
[22:37] <estevex811> anyone have an idea for the error
[22:37] <estevex811> i also enable-network for ffmpeg
[22:45] <estevex811> anyone have any idea?
[22:46] <Rathann> estevex811: pastebinning and showing the code would be a good first step
[22:56] <estevex811> http://pastebin.com/zGN3myMg --> source code
[22:56] <estevex811> the server is Wowza Media Server 3
[23:17] <estevex811> any thoughts?
