	One possibility is that the linker in OSX 10.4.1 is slightly different.

	Another (probably more likely ;)) possibility is that a bug was
	introduced in 10.4.x

	I am not sure what '-d' is supposed to do - a quick read of the
	ld manpage didn't find anything.
