Unfortunately it means that the SMAF file in question isn't supported.
There are several SMAF versions (2, 3, 5 and 7), of which only 2 (the
oldest/simplest, afaik) is supported. The chunk ID printed is "MTR",
which means version 3 or higher.

Newer versions are more like MIDI / soft-synth files than pure sample
files, so I doubt they will become supported by ffmpeg in the near
future.

There are other conversion tools, though. Yamaha has some sample apps
online, and some googling for "ringtone converter" or similar might
help.
